Would it be possible to pin the Don Gaynor thread to the top of this forum? That way his non-PGM friends and family could easily find it and see what a huge and important impact Don had on this community.

Thanx

My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

I don't know if PG Music has a "Hall of Fame", but if so, Don should be inducted for his 20+ years of assistance, comments, and jokes.

Along with Mac.

Any other contenders?

This is a great idea to show camaraderie and respect. Don would be a worthy contender.

An additional part of the 'Hall of Fame' could be for PGM to offer recognition of a 'life-time award' for long-term users who have contributed greatly and helped and supported others over many, many years (think 15 - 20 years of continuous service). This could be done is a similar way to the User Showcase Awards, but be a perpetual / lifetime award recognition.

+1 for sure.

Both ideas are great: a posthumous hall of fame, and a life-contributor award.

John Conley also comes to mind in the first category.

As to the second, I just received a nice 50-year member pin from the American Federation of Musicians. This sort of recognition is inexpensive but is still a nice touch. However, it displayed how difficult something like this is to manage, because I’ve actually been in the union 52 years. The first two locals I joined lost their records.

I originally bought BIAB in a retail store (Sam Ash in New York City) about 1994. It was another year or two before I had any interaction with PG Music, when I joined the first user forum (not this one, which was re-created in summer 2000). My point is that PG Music would have no record of the fact I was a user for a few years prior.

Some have also suggested that the names of beta testers be recognized somewhere (although I can see a downside to doing this).

Still, I hope someone in Support can work on these ideas.
