I used to think I wrote songs, but I'm now convinced I write ideas for songs. (still okay by me...) I wrote this in my head while on vacation in Sunset Beach, NC. Got home last night & recorded it today. Short & sweet... "Sunset Beach" MBrecker, PopTenor, MBrecker, JobimTnr on VL70m. Backing tracks created in BIAB, recorded in RB. For anyone who might care to listen... http://www.mickemery.com/songs/Sunset%20Beach.mp3Mick

Mick, I identify with the concept of "ideas for songs".. that's mostly what I have. However yours sounds like a whole song to me! I liked the chord progression, especially in light of the instruments used in the composition. Furthermore, you have a melody that could be hummed and recognized apart from the chords, which is always a good thing.
Speaking of Sunset beach, I'm somewhat familiar with it. We normally vacation on Holden Beach, very near by. I understand that's one of the few places on the east coast where you can watch the sun SET over the water (hence the name)

Hi Mick,
Excellent!!!!!
I'm in the same camp as Pat--I hear this as a full fledged song, and I think the strong melody is the main reason for that. I also like how you brought in a little ear candy here and there to keep things interesting. Sounds really good to me. Thanks for sharing.
Jim
I'd be completely happy if I had just one more guitar.
