Hi,
just got the update offer:
Is 2017 meanwhile capable to accept chords like Gb, D#, C# and so on? Is my biggest issue with BaiB.

Gb, D# and C# have always been enterable in BIAB.
If you can't enter them, it's because you didn't set the key signature first.
Maybe you meant to ask about Fb, E#, Cb, and B# and no, these cannot be entered.

Entering those enharmonics like Cb and seeing B always produces a momentary glitch in my brain. However since I've done it many times, the glitch is very short now and recovery very quick.
It's just a quirk of the app, and since BiaB offers so many great features and allows me to do so many things that no other piece of software can do so well, I just recover from the glitch and move on, appreciating what I CAN do with BiaB instead of what I cannot.
But I don't use BiaB for notation. I have a dedicated app for that.

I don't know what Note uses but I use the free Musescore: https://musescore.org/It will read MIDI, MusicXML, Guitar Pro as well as BiaB files. It does everything that I need a notation program to do. YMMV.
The more I get to know people the more I realize why Noah only allowed animals on the ark.

I use Encore. As of last year, it reads Music XML exported by BIAB.

not with the Chord Builder. With the keyboard, not so easy: I'm using a german keyboard (you may have recognized :-) ) that ist not reognized by BiaB, I have to know which keystroke provides which charackter, but when I enter a note by using the command 'Edit current note or Ctrl + F2, geraman keyboard is supported. horst

I would think version 4.x would not support that. I was a beta tester for Encore for well over a decade.
I run 5.x now.
Passport Designs sold Encore. It is currently owned by Gvox. A number of the testers left, including me.

Matt: isn't that interesting, That's how I obtained Encore was thru Gvox, I bought Gvox 3.0 for guitar. Don't remember what it did, but anyways.
