The "ranges" referred to in the song are the MacDonnell Ranges, roughly an hour west of Alice Springs, in Australia's Northern Territory. For a couple of years, Kat worked there as a tour-guide, taking visitors out to Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kings Canyon etc.

TUESDAY, I'LL BE GONE
Emotions spilled over till my cup was empty
There's an excuse there but I'm not waiting for it
Tuesday morning, Tuesday, I'll be gone
Between the packed bags and the silent tears
Between reasons why and the wasted years, I know
I'm not waiting for it, Tuesday, I'll be gone
Where did that first fire go? (Where did that first fire go? )
I can't even guess, I don't, I don't even know
Tuesday, I'll be gone
Instrumental break
These ranges will hear my anguished cries as I
leave this town a million miles behind, you know
I'm not waiting, Tuesday, I'll be gone
No backward glances on how we met
and no second chances and no regrets, you know
I'm not waiting, Tuesday, I'll be gone
Where did that first fire go? (Where did that first fire go? )
I can't even guess, I don't, I don't even know
Tuesday, I'll be gone
