From the rash of jams I did a few months back.
After a lot of mention of "sparse" on the first one, figured the next should be noteyer. (I made that word up... note--i-er?)
Just a quick hit-record-and-go, so some slop and some warts. Just some fun. Exploring.

A SLIPPERY SLOPE

The pros:
RealTracks in style: 420:Bass, Electric, Blues Sw 120
RealTracks in style: ~425:Organ, B3, Background Blues Sw 120
RealTracks in style: 421:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Blues Sw 120
RealDrums in style:BluesShuffleHard^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Ride
(Style is _GOAL.STY (Goal Bluesy Shuffle))

Me:
The solos. Fender Strat. (...probably Amplitube 5)

You:
Listen.
Comment if you choose.

thanks,
fj

Floyd,

You are becoming quite the "Stratmaster"...

That's a great jam with some awesome tones and a big crisp mix. Just great playing!

Excellent!

Floyd, a great jam
Your chops are getting better with each song and they are outstanding in this one
Super tone on that Strat
Super groove
Loved this jam

Groovy blues! I'd liked to have heard the organ in it from the start, plus something like an organ solo in the middle

Hi floyd.

This sounds like a live group to me.
It's so easy to visualise everyone playing on stage.
I'm not a guitar player but even to my untrained ears your strat work is super.
This is some really fine blues improvising.
I loved the listen!

COOL...not an excess of notes and some definite FEEL to the playing...sound really cool to me...I'd be happy for you to crank out a lead on any of my songs.

Cheers

Floyd,

Always a pleasure to hear what's been bubbling in the sonic cauldron, even if it's a "quick hit-record-and-go" special. Your Amplitube-enhanced Strat is practically weeping with joy in your hands. The solos? Chef's kiss, my friend. 👋 👍

But the real star of the show here, the pièce de résistance, the reason I felt compelled to wrench myself away from my artisanal hand-churned butter is... "noteyer."

Floyd, you've done it. You've cracked the linguistic code. Move over, Shakespeare. Step aside, Merriam-Webster! "Noteyer" is a word that perfectly encapsulates the… well, the note-i-ness of the piece. It's almost onomatopoeic, if onomatopoeia could be applied to an abstract concept like the density of musical content. I'm thinking of petitioning Oxford to include it. Imagine the definition:

Noteyer (floyd-i-er) adj. - Characterized by a higher than average concentration of musical notes, often deployed with a deliberate disregard for conventional melodic structures, resulting in a glorious tapestry of sound, likely achieved through the medium of a Fender Strat and/or Amplitube 5. Example: "This jam is definitely noteyer than the last one, Floyd you are magnificent !" 💯 👌

Seriously though, great stuff. Keep exploring, keep slinging those notes, and keep inventing words that make my brain happy. 💗 😍

Cheers,
Izzy

Yowzer, now THAT's a jaunty Gee-tar sound! Love your huge vocabulary of cool licks all woven into an addictive musical journey. Couldn't have looked away if I had wanted to. Gosh, those four minutes FLEW by. That was probably as much fun for me as it was for you, Floyd. THANKS for posting!

Needs more piano. HAHA. Love the notier approach. The ones that are just push record and play are often the best. Man, your chops are getting tastier too. Good Strat tone. I can see your wailing expression of pure joy that looks like pain when you hit the high note. Keep 'em coming, Floyd.

Enjoy whatever happens!

So this is what I heard:

Imagine Janis Joplin hanging out with the Full Tilt Boogie Band she's wondering around the rehearsal room and they're just jamming away and they don't know where she is because she wandered off somewhere and got lost and as they're jamming she comes back into the room and starts yelling:

Who stole my Southern Comfort!!!

And then they just keep jamming.

And then someone walks in the room and says hey guys did you know you've just been invited to Woodstock?

And they say so what and keep jamming.

And then Janice comes walking back in holding her bottle and says I found it! And then she starts singing.

And that's when it starts to go crazy.

That's what I heard.

Very cool jam. It reminds me on any of the hundreds of backyard, garage, and basement jams.... "hey put that out, I think the cops just showed up, the neighbors musta called them........ !

Lots of pentatonic stuff going on, and yeah, the pentatonic box is the foundation of a lot of the great player's riffage, but you gotta get out of that box and shake it loose, but I know firsthand it's a ton of fun just using that scale. Keep at it because you are making good progress. There is certainly a noticeable improvement in your guitar playing from when you first ventured into live guitar. ( On this forum )

The mix is good.

It sounds like you were getting down in a roadhouse jam. That Strat takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Your leads sound awesome to me.

Tasteful noodling with all the necessary notes, but nothing more.
Cool groove, perfect backing tracks.
I would love to hear Billy Gibbons or a similar voice sing vocals to your song
