Very cool, hook-filled tune. Like the sparse arrangement a lot, it works perfectly. Marty's bass is always a pleasure. Your vocals are quite nice. Don't know exactly what I'm hearing, but the vocals have a digital artifact fuzziness around them, at least to my ears. A little less of that might be a better listen. But it wouldn't make the song better. It's a killer song!

LOL...I clicked on the link thinking the name of the song was "The Girl Who Never Was on Youtube". HAHAHAHA ... Then I had to go through my whole cookie-cleaning ritual. But since the song was loaded, I listened. Great song. Really beautiful guitar and melody. Very catchy. Loved the vocals too.

Hi Bill! I really love that acoustic rhythm swaying between those two chords - back and forth - and it works so well with the meter of the lyrics - like a hand in a glove. The lyric “because … she’s the girl that never was” doesn’t get tired and works great every time one hears it.
Also some cool chords in the chorus.
If it was on Soundcloud, I’d add it to my playlist ‘Andrew’s BIAB songwriter favs’.

Very nice.
I was trying to figure out the meaning..... it kinda sounds like it's talking about losing a child in some manner and pondering the "what could have been".
This is nicely done and a good lyric write as well.

Great song, production and mix. Love that acoustic guitar rhythm and the pedal steel, too.

Yes, I like it, but you already know that. It's one of those songs that stays in your head long after you hear it, and can pop back in there anytime after. It's amazing how you can get som much out of essentially one chord in parts. It was particularly challenging to come up with a bassline that didn't just pedal, and I was happy to have the chorus come in once in awhile. Love that pedal steel.

Yeah thanks, I changed that. Anyway, there are no girls who have never been on youtube. Hi Bill! Andrew D Thanks Andrew, I've been trying to do songs that use pedal steel but aren't country. Glad you liked it and found it on Soundcloud. I dont use that site enough. Very nice. I was trying to figure out the meaning..... it kinda sounds like it's talking about losing a child in some manner and pondering the "what could have been". This is nicely done and a good lyric write as well. I try to make my lyrics as open ended as I can. Hopefully, more people can identify with them that way. Yes, it is about loss, but loss can come in many forms. The chorus slaps you back to reality. Glad you liked it Bill,
Good write. Really nice production. Good vocals. Marty's bass is always a good addition. Cool steel.
Enjoyable listening.
fj Thanks Floyd. Marty and I have been playing together for 35 years or so. Me and the steel go back even further. Glad you liked it Great song, production and mix. Love that acoustic guitar rhythm and the pedal steel, too. Thanks, Nothing like a steel. I hope it makes a comeback. Excellent stuff. Great performances and a lovely voice. There's a little essing I'd address at the end of some lines but that's me. Thanks Ray. Glad you liked it. My hearing is going in that range. I'll have to get a proofreader ..prooflistener? Bill and Marty, what a great song Loved those guitar parts and the bass Super cool pedal steel lead Great vocal and mix loved it Thanks Mario. This has been one of my favorites since Marty and I got to work together in person on it Hi, Bill. Lovely bit of pop. Vocals, lyrics, production - they all work. The pedal steel was especially nice. Thank you David.

Very enjoyable collaboration on the lyric and performances.
Good vocals and band - it has a Monkees feel of some of their best.
Nice work on the steel and Marty’s foundation.
Cool video
Enjoyed it!
