Key To The Highway Hi Folks - this is my blues/rock version of the classic blues song "Key To The Highway". Blues pianist Charlie Segar wrote and first recorded the song in 1940. Jazz Gillum and Big Bill Broonzy followed with recordings in 1940 and 1941, using an arrangement that has become the standard. Vocals - Nigel Spiers Bass - Dow Tomlin (579) Drums - Wayne killius (RockHardLA) Rhythm Guitar - Jack Pearson (580) Organ - Chris Nole (674) Lead Guitar - Brent Mason (2636)

Hi Nigel!
A fantastic track! I loved your choice of Real Track artists, and judicious yet effective use of mutes and shots at various times for great effect. As usual, your vocals are sublime and match the song choice perfectly - or vice versa.

Wow, Nigel, this is easily the hardest driving version of Key to the Highway I've ever heard. Great vocals (as usual) helped to bring it to a simmer. Bill Broonzy is either rolling in his grave or tapping his foot to the beat. The latter, I'm sure.

Nigel, fabulous vocals and energetically breezy arrangement. Super job keeping that guitarist on task. The entire band sounds exactly on point though. Another nice one!

Been away for a bit, but saw this post, and marked it as a burning destination. Wow, what a trip. I must have played this song hundreds of times, both in bands and in recordings, not to mention how often it was called out during jams. I KNEW your version would soar to the top as one of the best I'll ever hear. Love it, Nigel!!
