Kanru Hua, the author of MoreSampler, has released a commercial singing synthesis program called Synthesizer V. A free Technical Preview is available for Windows and Linux. If you've familiar with Vocaloid software, you'll be right at home. Installation is simply a matter of unzipping files, and it's pretty simple to use. Although it wouldn't fool anyone into thinking it's not synthetic, the voice is quite good, both in clarity and timbre. A number of vowels sounds and the nasal tone make me suspect that the demo voice didn't come from a native English speaker. As it currently stands, it would be trivial for BiaB to write to the json file that it currently uses. However, I wouldn't bet that file format remains that same. Has anyone looked at this yet? Example songs can be found by searching for the demo voice name ( "Eleanor Forte").

I have been playing around with it for the last month or so, but I think it is quite difficult to get Eleanor to sound good and to pronounce English words correctly.
I think it is easier (although time-consuming) to get Vocaloid 5 to sound like a real voice.
But I think he is still developing the software, so maybe Eleanor will sound better in coming versions.

Seems like some sort of formant adjustment would help. Reaper's ReaPitch has formant adjustment. I don't have time to play around with this due to my schedule and other projects but maybe someone here can mess with it and post results and workflow.
Does the noise in your head bother me ?

Seems like some sort of formant adjustment would help. There's a Gender parameter which (I assume) shifts formants. As for workflow, you can export MIDI from BiaB, and import it into Synthesizer V. Unfortunately, that doesn't include lyrics. You can also export a backing track from BiaB into Synthesizer V, and create the audio track from scratch. I've got some Lua code that can read XML generated by BiaB and convert it to phonemes in a format that my own synthesis program expects. If I get some spare time, I'll see if I can get it to output the json format that Synthesizer V expects. Kanru's built tools that automate the creation of new voices. I would expect that there will be additional, higher quality voices for Synthesizer V in the near future - if the project becomes successful.
