I tried this here and it seemed to work pretty good:
P.S. also should mention that in the song settings dialogue I have the generate a 2 bar ending for this song and the use 4 bar ending for realtracks options enabled so it properly resolves on that Gm chord.
Good effort guys. It ain't easy to get a fermata, especially at the ending, with BIAB. Dave, can you provide the file with your adjusted ending?
Hi Dan,
You can just download his and make the changes like I showed in the picture. Or wait until the morning and I can provide mine, my studio is shut down for the day.
Thank you! Yes, this will do. It resolves very well.
I didn't know the trick of using 3 dots to let the notes ring
I will be glad to share the results when its completed. It is just for fun during the confinement. Me (guitar) and the drummer are in Thailand, the Singer and the Bass player in Spain.
The process is like this: I export the MIDI files from BiB and I open them at Cakewalk Bandlab (I've found that the MIDI style BUDDYG.STY does a good job with the MIDI files). After doing some editing I record the guitar parts and I send it to the drummer, singer and bass player to add their parts. I finally mix the tracks at Cakewalk.
BTW: I note that the Bass MIDI track generated by BUDDYG.STY is identical to the Real Audio track from _TBLZSLR.STY. That makes me think that this Real Audio track was not actually recorded by a bass player; it was generated using the MIDI from BUDDYG.STY through a VST instrument. Unless he played exactly the same standard sequences with machine precision

Yes, please do. I so enjoyed this tune and version that I am considering to record it myself. Will let you know if and when it sees the end of the process.

That would be unusual. I will check it out closer if I continue to pursue this tune.

The 3 dots tells it to hold all instruments. You can also do shots and rests, and can also specify which instruments are affected.
You can learn all the shortcuts, such as using 3 dots, or you can bring up the chord dialogue box. You do that by going to the chord and pressing alt-F5

Thank you very much for the tip! I still haven't used these useful dialogues. I am starting to learn how to use BIAB.
I still don't like the Eb7 or the Eb. Not that it sounds bad, but it doesn't match at the context of this song. It sounds too "cheerful" or "jazzy". I am not too concerned because we will record our own parts, but I am curious to know why and how it could be resolved within BIAB

OK, so here is my cover of this tune, as promised. I had a lot of fun with this and it took a lot out of me to get down the best I could. Glad to have it done. I can now move on to my next project.
Thank you Jeff. In this case BIAB had an excellent template for this groove. And others before me had carved out the chords nicely. I wanted to handle the vocals and add some guitar. So I just needed to mix the pieces of the youtube file with the BIAB file and record my guitar and vocals over the mix. It was fun.
Morning Jim, Can't tell? That is a testimony to how well the BIAB merged in this case. And since music is the grand illusion, this is exactly what I was trying to achieve.
But just between us friends, the figure below shows what is behind the curtain.
Intro The drums are the Original Recording (OR). I didn't even spend any time trying to replace with RDs since I have never heard this startup with RDs. The guitar intro is also OR. After a few hours/days I actually did get this lick down. I purchase BiasGrid FX 2 and found some very good tones, but in the final mix David Gilmore won out. I could not get the bit of his tone. So I cut my part out.
First Verse This is essentially the same chord chart from BIAB (Credits to M.Guerrero) with _TBLZSLR.STY Texas Blues 12/8, Gm 16 bars [Master] using the BIAB Plugin. I found no need to make any adjustments to this in the verses. It was a very good match. My vocals with one David lick and my lead guitar covered this section.
Solo This is entirely the OR. I made a few attempts to join in, but there was no topping David.
Second Verse Same strategy as the first verse - all BIAB. I can't tell how many times I sang this song. Controlling my scratchy, nasally vocals combined with finding the vocal articulations was by far the most difficult part of the project. The minute I felt I got it - I stopped! Otherwise, this could have gone on forever. BTW, I used the 30 day free version of the newest Isotope Nekter. But at the end it timed out and I was happy with using my current older version.
Ending, was BIAB with the fermata that BlueAttitude provided. This section did need some adjustments in chords and spacing, versus the original chord chart, for my vocals to fit. Did I mention, I had fun doing this one?
