As a complete beginner to BiaB, and after viewing many and varied tutorials looking for answers, which although very informative, unfortunately proved to be unsuccessful in pointing me in the right direction, could I please ask for the advice of those much more experienced than I.
My questions, are these. I want to be able to use BiaB to create backing tracks for a live performance where I dont want to record a vocal track over the whole song, but I want to just create harmonies on the choruses of the songs.
Would I have to record vocals on just the bars of the choruses to generate the harmonies and then mute or delete the main vocal to just leave the harmonies?
I would also like to add, if possible, vocal ooh's and aah's, but only on certain bars.
Apologies for asking for what is probably common knowlege to eveyone else, but any hints would be much appreciated.

This is easiest done in BIAB rather than exporting to a DAW. BIAB introduced a feature suited specifically for the recorded RealTrack backing vocals called 'Thickening'.
Select and Load the backing vocal RealTrack F7 to open the Track Settings and Action Dialog Page Click on the Medley Button to open the Medley Dialog Page Click the Play all simultaneously button Click the Duplicate button Ok to close

No. You do not have to record vocals on just the bar of the choruses to generate harmonies. Just highlight each region of audio you want to apply the harmonizing to.
This action can also be done solely in BIAB without the need to export to a DAW.
Open the Audio Edit Window and select the vocal track that's the main audio Highlight a region to add harmonies Select the harmonize from the Edit Menu Select the type and number of harmonies from the available selections OK to close the screen
Note that Harmonies can either be merged with the main audio track or each harmony part placed on a separate track by checking or unchecking the track selection box.
I use BB to write, RB to generate tracks not in the style, and Sonar to record live tracks like vox and guitars.
You can use the harmonizer, I think that's how you planned to do the vocal harmonies. Yep... record the lead, put the harmony in other tracks and then mute the lead vocal for the exported backing track.
I would not us BB as your player on live gigs. Use wave files from a computer or other player that is more reliable. And it's easier.
A second thought.... use the harmonizer to create the track. Then, learn the vocal part and sing it along with the soloed harmonizer track. Then mute or delete the harmonizer track. It will sound more realistic and will not have the harmonizer artifacts. Another way that I use is to figure out the harmony part on a keyboard and then learn it and sing it. Either way works if you can not sing off the cuff harmony.

The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
