OK, I don't get it. Last night I recorded a steel guitar track on a tune...all was well.
This morning I attempt another tune... I monitor everything in real time, record about 1/2 the tune and play it back. The new audio track is fine for about 10-15 bars, then it's like the recorded track is playing back about 3bpm's faster than the tempo of the track ??? Tempo of the tune is 128, and the new track acts like it's playing back at around 130 ? So at some point it gets 'ahead' of the track.
What in the heck happened overnight ? I MUST have tweaked a setting somewhere, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.
This happens on ANY tune I pull up.. even the one I recorded last night just fine.. this morning, the reccorded audio plays back faster than the tempo of the tune.???

Sounds like a potential sample rate quirk in there. 44.1 kHz data being played at 48 kHz will be almost that far off.

hmmm... seems to be ok after reinstalling the M-Audio ASIO driver ??

Well, let's apply some logic here. Settings are not sitting there to be randomly tweaked by accident. Most of the things you can "tweak" are three drill levels down, so you did not likely accidentally tweak anything that had to do with timing or tempo. You may want to try a quantize (AFTER you make a copy and play with the copy and not the original file) or record the track again and see if it stays in time this time through it.
