A little while ago I did “1950 Something”, a fast song in the 50’s style. A good friend of mine said, “OK, now do a slow 50’s style song using the C-Am-F and G7 chord progression. I tried to capture that style here: http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6880.0;attach=5848

I used the Arpeggio style in BiaB. I slightly modified the drums, strings, piano and rhythm guitar parts to better fit the song.

I am playing the lead guitar and bass parts. I also used my keyboard to play the pedal steel part and my wind controller for the sax part.

I hope you like it for what it is.

Ps- this was a hard one for me to do. I know a ton of songs in that chord progression and I kept going back to them. Let me know if I did copy parts of a song!

My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Hey Mario,

Nice!!! Like you, I know heaps of songs that use this progression. Nothing stood out as reminiscent of anything I knew.

I liked this one. You're a very talented musician.

All the best,
Noel

Mario,

Great music, styling, playing and selection of instruments for your mix.

Was 7 thru 16 for these 50's, so song really appealed to me.
The Sax part is very nice, good job.

I think the music is especially romantic.

Thanks for your nice work.

BTW, you piqued my interest a great deal with these chords.
Gotta have me one of these. Will you drop by tomorrow evening to
Live play for me ?

Frank, thank you very much for those kind words.

I would gladly play live for you. If you are serious just PM me and I tell you where you can email the plane tickets, both way for me and the wife, as well as the money for the hotel and food. Note that I will not charge you for playing so you are getting a break there!

Was meant to be humorous the playing Live part...
Hope didn't mislead.

My wife just listened and she also liked the song.

Of course this is well done. Good self-played instruments and use of BIAB.
I'm looking forward to your next 2012 something.

Floyd jane, thanx for the kind words.

I am not a singer BUT if ANYONE is interested in collaborating I will ship him or her the individual wavs and supporting data so they can write the lyrics and sing.

Really pretty Mario. Reminds me of American Graffiti or Peggy Sue Got Married when they were all slow dancing in the gym.
