Through all of this we see the differences in health care. In Canada we get a flat subsidy if there is a hearing loss, and I have a private plan that picks up most of the rest.

In the UK the NHS (National health Service) pays MOST of the cost. And the hearing aids may be 80 pounds or 140 bucks, BUT the same ones costs 5 or 6 thousand in the US.

I don't know what the average senior in the US has to pay for aids, but I hope they don't get hosed. (good canuck expression).

It makes me sad to see that hard working folk, who stood proud in an industrial society, making cash for the man, end up with such a raw deal.
