It's kinda "in your face"

Hi Mick,

This is a well-balanced mix. It was great to listen to. Skillful.

Thanks for taking the time, Noel.
My ears were burnt from working on this sucker!
I think I either need to try another lead voice or maybe eq it to bring the lead out in the mix.

Thanks again,
Mick

I will respectfully disagree. I like it as is. IMHO everything fits perfectly.

Great backing tracks and some super chops here Mick.

This is a keeper.

Mick i like the song. But I think there something strange going on with the groove. At the beginning there`s the drum groove plus some instruments (did you play them live?). The instruments are way behind the groove (timing). It just doesn`t fit. Maybe you`re having a latency issue, I dont know. Or the drum groove doesn`t match with the keyboard grooves. Also the leadsound is a little late. Whatever it is, sounds strange.

If you could fix it, I`m sure it sounds great. Very nice sounds!

Mick,

Looks like Sandra and I are rowing in the same boat. While I know this is quite a step in a different direction from your usual playing filled with feeling on every note, I too don't get the groove/mix. Especially for the first 21 seconds into the tune, sounds to me like the drummer is not quite aware of the tune he is supposed to be playing, then he finds his way but only to loose it again at the 52 second mark etc. etc.. Unless I totally missed it (and man have I done that before) I am thinking there is either a style conflict between the lead instruments and the drummer or a timing issue.

Actually...that's just how the original is! It's almost awkward, but I dug it the first time I heard it. (forget almost it is awkward!)

The drummer is dead on. The piano is a shade behind, and the bass is a shade behind that! It happens each verse.
It was strange to get used to, now I can't picture it any other way. (Shades of Monk!!!)

Thanks all for listening & responding.

Mick,

Like I said in my response, I have been known to miss the point of some music style, especially if I am not familiar with that style, therefore I guess I just don't get it.

I,for one, love the "weird" timing. Specially for electronic music these timing"jokes" are done deliberatly.
Is it an original song? If so: well written and performed. If not: well performed.
Good job on all parts!

Like your horn. Sounds really good. All the music is excellent. The off-beat tempo doesn't do it for me. But I'm country. We only get off time when we're stoned. Ok I'm just kidding.

I know you meant to say drunk!! LOL

If you listened recently...I had changed the lead instrument, but it'll get changed again.

Thanks,
Mick
