The 2016 stylepicker has a new organisation vs 2015 version.
In the previous versions of BIAB, we could create user categories for our user styles.
Personally, I got about a dozen of user styles categories, one categorie for each ls3 file, and all this worked fine.
In order to add personnal categories, we need a tutorial on :
- how to add a new category/subcategories
- how to link a user style to a specific category/subcategory.
Also, it should be profitable to explain the notion of Kategories/genres/subgenres and the meaning of the numbers as : Ballad,51,60,142;100;160;103;137;59;2;3.
In the other hand, do the *.ls3 need some additional information to be directly compatible with the new stylepicker ? For example, the 2016 stylepicker can't display the dates of the user styles (it simply displays ??), because no date is embedded in the *.ls3 files.
We can't afford to lose a feature that we previously had in the 2015 stylepicker.

Don't think we can do this in the new StylePicker, so more than a tutorial, I think we need the ability to actually do it.
Based on what I've seen, however, it does seem that the new Stylepicker does read the LS3 files when creating the user styles list; however, you do lose your categorization in the process (and probably some other information which I haven't had the time to delve into yet).

If LS3 files still have a part to play in the new Stylepicker I would really like an explanation from PG. I miss the fact that my User styles are no longer grouped according to the LS3's

I'm pretty sure they are at least partially read, because the descriptive information for my Norton Styles all seem to be there (and I don't think that came from PGMusic). However, as you have indicated, Tony, the categories are definitely missing.
At least I know that all Norton Styles start with a "#" sign, so I can easily filter on that; however, that doesn't subdivide them into the categories that Bob Norton originally established in the LS3 files he provided with those styles.
I agree, we should have more information regarding the interaction between the legacy style cataloging system and the new system used for the new Style Picker.
