:)Hi fellow users. I am a new nubie
I posted this on the wrong forum by mistake. My question is,
What is the difference between VST and VSTi?
If this is answered on a FAQ page somewhere, please direct me to that or Turorials
that would ground me.

I answered this in your original post.
VST = an effect such as compression, equalization, reverb, etc.
VSTi = an instrument (hence the "i"), a softsynth, such as Kontakt, Sforzando, Garritan Libraries using Aria, and a host of many, many more

Hi ReTry, To elaborate on jford's post. VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology, with the "i" being for instrument. VST is a software interface that integrates software audio synthesizer and effect plugins with audio editors and recording systems. Often used to simulate traditional studio hardware in software. Thousands of plugins exist, both commercial and freeware, and a large number of audio applications support VST under license from its creator, Steinberg.
