The Old Rugged Cross

Working with cut and paste with Reaper. Tracks more stable than with previous editor.
Biab Country Waltz.

Very nice, Ed! Volume is a but low, although the volume picks up midway through.

This was my grandparents favorite hymn - they had it played at both their funerals. My grandfather always sat in the right rear seat of car as my franny drove. He'd often sit there and sing this for hours upon hours.

I like the simple and straight-forward approach. Soft and gentle, as a song of comfort should be. Thank you for the wonderful listen.

Alan

Thanks, Alan. Cut and Paste technique
needs work, to conform volume across
the clips & get that volume up.
Thanks for listening and commenting.

Yeah, volume needs a good tweak and possible treble as well. Be interesting to hear a remix, as you've made a nice job of this

Ed, Alan said it well. Simple straight forward approach, gentle and soft. This works well for the old hymn. Thanks for helping keep these classic songs alive. Torrey

Super job Ed. I also use Reaper to do the final mix for my music. I start in BIAB, flip it to Realband for recording as I like to see the chord changes while I am playing and then export to Reaper to balance and pan. Well done.

For volume checking in Reaper I run it through first with headphones and watch the volume meters trying to take it right up until I almost clips. The run it through the studio speakers..

Well done..

Furry: In a rush to publish, the post came to resemble a Helter Skelter.
Three takes, each recorded on different days w/ different settings. The transfer of the tracks, instead of through a line out, was done by way of a ribbon mike and Fender amp with the effects on -- how stupid -- into a decent field recorder, but still. Thanks for suggesting a remix. I'll go that and more.
Torrey: As always, grateful for your listen and comments. I wanted you folks to hear this thing to get some feedback.
Scott: I got fascinated with Reaper. Splitting at Cursor is way more stable than with my previous un-named. I especially like dragging the tape across the head, and hearing it. With good ol Biab, snychro is easy. The problem was, the newbie couldn't quite get the hang of the volume control. Export was very simple.
I hope the Reaper developer puts his talents to video editing.
Thanks, again.
