Bob, Nice catchy tune! A good reminder to take time out from all the depressing stuff in the news. A bit more bassy than some previous tunes I have heard, but I like it, it is not overwhelming, just the right amount. That sweet pedal steel takes this to another level.
Thank you for sharing!
Misha.

Another great opening lyric! Your chorus is memorable both musically and lyrically. "Hey now girl am I the one" is a phrase that many can identify with. Good song!

A tale of two mind sets living side by side - modern life. The snare snap really propels this song. I'l not sure how the boomy bass would translate through a living room stereo but it works well enough through head phones.

Hi Bob,
This is a real sweet song. You build a kind of tension with your specific voice. When I expected you to go 'loose', say after 2/3-rd of the song, you didn't! You keep singing the same way as from the start. That enhances the melancholic effect in this song. I noticed you do that in more of your songs. That I like about your style. The steel guitar is not -yet- one of my favorite instruments (must be my origin), but it fits in very nice.
Bye, Hans

Very cool intro. Steel was a really nice touch. Loved the acoustic. Super vocal and lyric and loved the way you phrased the lyrics gave the song a very cool feel to it..

Bob,
Excellent write.
Your vocal in this is well done. Well sung, well recorded, well mixed.
The BAND sounds great - good arrangement/production, nice build...good mix throughout. Drums and bass sound great. Acoustic is crisp and clean/clear. Excellent use of the steel.
Awesome.
(And you are doing terrific "album covers" for your songs, too!)

man, you use the pedal steel to great effect in this song
sounds so good,
You know I need the rain today Gonna cleanse my blues away
love these lines
you're in a very prolific phase and writing some of the best
(as best that I remember) songs
I like what Ray had to say "a tale of two mindsets"
a good description
I think that you've created a great sound and genre for yourself.
Always a fan,
Kenny

Yeah, I think so. This rests easily on my shoulders, singing in my ear. Both lyric and delivery so intimate it almost makes me blush. Steel is outstanding. Very, very nice.

Hi Bob,
Very nice song and lyrics indeed! Listening to your song brought me memories of my childhood where songs like "Seasons In The Sun" and "Rhinestone Cowboy" were radio-hits.
Very well done! Will

Hi Bob,
This is a fantastic listen. I love the arrangement. Your use of the pedal steel is a masterstroke. It's a perfect fit and, as others have already said, it lifts the whole presentation to another level.
Everything about this immediately identifiable as "Robert Dean" and it sound so very, very, very good! It's infectiously catchy!
I really enjoyed this journey.
All the best, Noel

Nice, moody tune, maybe not as much imagery as the three others I've heard from you, but still your sound, which is a good sound. I didn't hear too much bass, but the drums surprised me. Maybe it was the quick beat. Still, as I said, very much your unique thing going on, which I find draws me in every time.

You has me right from the opening lines:
"You know I need the rain today Gonna cleanse my blues away"
Great signature vocal as always, and love the fadeout ending with the steel.
You are on a roll, Bob!

Bob, I like the way you take a melody that reminds me of 60`s folk ( Ian Tyson or Gordon Lightfoot ),move it into rock/pop and your own very cool sound. Excellent upfront vocal with a vulnerable feel in your voice. Awesome production as always!

Nicely done! Love the slow progression, and upbeat vibe on this one. Flows really nicely and definitely easy to sway to. This is the kind of tune I'd imagine sounds great live. Great work and thanks for sharing

One of the best understated arrangements and productions I've heard in a long while and it fits the song perfectly. Your vocals are spot on. Enjoyed my listen.

"You know I need the rain today Gonna cleanse my blues away"
That stuck with us...normally one would think rain would possibly be a blues creator but to use it to wash away the blues is thought provoking...and cool.
"We don't hold more than today Gonna push our cares away"
That is a great way to express "be here now."
Janice commented from the get go that she was reminded of some of Jeff Bridges work. Beyond his acting he has done some nice Americana.
As folks have mentioned the build and the use of the steel are both very nice...and effective.
And, at the risk of getting redundant, we also like that snare pop.
As we often say or allude to the quality of your large catalog is amazing.

Bob,
Engaging from start to finish—love the gravelly vocal . .. give this such heart and soul. Nice choice on the percussion kicking in on the second verse—really crisp. You’ve got such a soft touch on production, Bob . . . really pulls out the nuance in your songs. There’s a lot to admire here. Killer stuff!
All the best,
Deej

Bob, you are one hell of a good storyteller! This an excellent, radio ready, piece of music. Your vocal and lyrics were fantastic and your instrumentation and mix exceptional!
I believe this is your best to date.
PS - you should do more in this genre.

What a wonderful vibe you've created here......singing pedal steel on top of that steady drum beat!! It just works! Some cool lyrics, and a vibe that just sucks you in. Vocal and mix are also REALLY GOOD!!! Very nicely done Bob!! Take care. Greg

User Video: Band-in-a-Box® + ChatGPT = Impressed the BOSS!
Band-in-a-Box User Video Tutorials!
If you've reviewed our Support page, you've probably noticed the Videos page, which separates our Band-in-a-Box® tutorial videos by category: Overview, VST DAW Plugin, Setup, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and there's even an Archive category to go down memory lane... (You'll also find these videos on our YouTube Channel.)
It's always great to hear how other Band-in-a-Box® users create their songs, especially when they explain in detail what they're doing. Like Henry Clarke's YouTube Channel, Henry Clarke - Senior Musicians Unite! There you'll find his ALL Band-in-a-Box Tutorials playlist with over 50 videos! His top-three most watched videos include "How to Get Started with Band-in-a-Box," "How I use the Audio Chord Wizard in Band-in-a-Box," and "How to Create An Effective Solo Using Band-in-a-Box" - however he touches on many other topics and also demonstrates his own Band-in-a-Box® songs in the Band-in-a-Box Created Songs playlist!
You're guaranteed to find some helpful videos when you visit Henry Clarke's channel!
