Pipeline's image shows the Input side .. you asked about the Output side.
Just pointing this out..
We can only assume it would act the same way.
May want to ask Jeff.
I have sync'd 2 1010's and used the 16 Inputs but to be honest I didn't pay much attention to the output side. Nothing jumped out at me so it likely just worked.

As luck would have it:
I ordered an 18i20 a couple days ago, so once it gets here and I can hook it up I'll be in better position to answer.
With that and the 1010 I should have a pretty good view of what you can expect to encounter. <grin>
