A mechanism that would allow you to partially re-generate tracks would be a highly desirable feature for the developers to add to Band In a Box. It would allow users to tweak their re-generated tracks to perfection.

There are many times you find a re-generated track you really like but there are portions of it you would like to redo. With this capability, you would be able to replace those parts of the track that weren't quite right with a newly re-generated part that "fits".

The developers would have to work out the best and most efficient way to do this but I can envision a procedure whereby you would simply re-generate a track until you find a version you are mostly satisfied with and freeze it, as you normally would. Then, if there are certain bars in the frozen track you are dissatisfied with, you would then highlight those bars for "override" re-generation and BIAB would then override and overwrite those highlighted bars and leave the other bars alone.

What do you think? Yeah or nay or leave a comment if you like.
