That was one of my growing up rock songs back in the 50's. 1st heard it on Top 40 AM radio station, KILT out of Houston Texas.
That was a great video 'bout the inside techniques.

That was a great video 'bout the inside techniques. He missed a big one, IMO. Norman Petty usually kept a room mic on. With Jerry Allison in another room, you can hear the acoustic sound of Buddy's Strat clearly, especially during the rhythm parts of the song. Listen for the telltale clicks—way cool. Likewise, you can hear Niki flipping the pickup selector both times. You can hear this on many other Buddy Holly records as well. I met Maria Holley in California in 1985. Details aren't important but, when she filled out a work order, I noticed the correct spelling and asked, "Buddy Holly or the carbouretor people?" "It's the same family" "Oh. … You are who I think, aren't you?" "Yes but uh…" "Don't worry. I'll respect your privacy." (Actually, I really wanted to pick up the phone and have my wife bring my Buddy Holly records down). "Thank you." When it came time to sign the credit card receipt, she wrote Maria (Holly) Holley. I still have that.
