Background: I'm trying to work with audio for the first time in BiaB so I'm not entirely sure of my workflow yet; it's a WIP. My goal is to align the audio track with a RealDrum track. I was able to import the audio successfully into BiaB, add bar lines to agree with the BiaB bar timeline (visible in purple) and even equalize the tempo. The instability began when I tried to delete "blank audio/dead space" at the beginning of the track so I could align the beginning of the audio with Bar#1. The count-in for the drums begins at Bar# 0 and lasts for one bar. Everytime I tried to delete the dead space at the beginning of the track it seemed to add more dead space. On one of these deletion attempts the Stack Overflow ocurred. I'm hoping this is operator error, but even if it is, it would be nice if the software were more forgiving.
Any help is appreciated.

A Stack Overflow is a serious error condition that should not occur. The event(s) that caused this should be handled by the software. I would email PG Music support, give them as much detail as possible as to the steps you took to cause the error and attach the BiaB Song file.
Additionally, are you able to reproduce this condition by repeating the steps?

You sound quite knowlegable, computer science background?
One of your GIF sequences might show what I'm trying to do, the sequence where you drag the beginning of the waveform. But I can't produce the "pitch fork" mouse cursor to drag the beginning of my wave form. I used ChatPG, searched the online Help and did a Google, I simply can't find any relevant info on this.
If BiaB needs non destructive audio editing, why don't the programmers disable destructive audio editing?
I followed your link to stackoverflow.com and it brings me to what appears as a general coding forum and can't see how that pertains to this problem. Do I need to search that forum for "Band in a Box"?

The important clue I see here is that the editing you tried to do is at the beginning of the file. I hope this was made clear to PG Music Support. AudioTrack is correct that a stack overflow error can be serious, even present a security vulnerability. It's often caused by a recursive routine gone wrong, but as this is the beginning of the file, I wonder if a division by zero error is involved.
In general, all audio editing started out as destructive. Then programmers in many but not all audio programs figured out how to implement non-destructive editing and of course we find that safer and flexible. That feature hasn't reached BIAB yet.
