"Spring Forward": an optimistic spring-flavoured instrumental with guitars and piano solos. ... Very oddly, I posted this here on the 27th, but it just vanished!

Piano: Solo Acoustic Piano Ballad ~ John Jarvis
Organ: Country Rock Guitar Solo, Pop Ba ~ Gene Rabbai
Bass Guitar: Bricks Indie Rock w Guitar Solo ~ Tobin Frank
Drums: Country Rock Guitar Solo, Pop Ba ~ Brian Fullen
1st Guitar Solo: Bricks Indie Rock w Guitar Solo ~ Mike Durham
Piano Solo: Giggle Rumba Pop AC Piano Solo ~ John Jarvis
2nd Guitar Solo: Nashville Radio Power Bal Solo ~ Danny Rader
3rd Guitar solo: Modern Groove Soloist, Brit Rock ~ Dave Cleveland

4/4, D, 120 bars, 120 bpm, 4:16

Chay,

I love the way this piece gathers momentum as it moves along. Big sound, guitars are great and the mix is outstanding.

I think this is my favorite one from you so far. Nice country rock feel and really good sounding tracks.

Chay, nice rockin' tune! Great job as always with the instrument selection and mix. Some interesting new (to me) visuals, too. Nice job!

A good build. I like the guitar solo - well enough to check to see what the RT was.
Mix is good.

Thanks for the positive response, Bob. For me the momentum is crucial when I'm arranging the samples after I've sorted the all-important chord structure. Again for me, it's the momentum in this that give it an optimistic vibe. I'm just finishing my first dance instrumental - a sort of reggaeton, techno, rock'n'folk mix - and as I found a lot of good solo samples I started off with 2 versions. I finally scrapped one as although it had a great build up to about halfway through, the solos in it - all really good ones - sort of flat-lined as there was no further momentum. I was still tempted to keep it, but the alternate version is so much better that I didn't.

Thanks for listening and responding, Monsieur the G-hacker, though while I really like the track - I'd not post it if I didn't! - it's not quite in my personal top 10 of 27 posts so far. Another less perky instrumental that I finished shortly after this one and will probably post in a week went straight into my top 4, so I'm really looking forward to getting that uploaded to YouTube.

Mario, thanks for the response. I agree with you: it's not my best to date, though when I hear it in a playlist it always perks me up. smile

Thanks for the listen and response, Ron. Re my videos, I've done so many now with my own graphics I have to repeat some images to suit particularl themes. I've well ovewr 300 images now, but many don't really suit my posts.

Mix is good.

Thanks for listening, Floyd. There are 3 guitar solos in it, which one were you referring to?

Another amazing band by the BiaB Wrecking Crew and a talented user.
It sounds excellent on our Kalis. A great airy soundstage with all the nuances shining through.

It's been mentioned but the guitars solos are ace.

Well done .... aud and vid.

Great melody and very nice mix. As mentioned above the guitars are really good, but I sure loved that John Jarvis Piano stuff too. Good sound.

Beautiful and indeed optimistic.
I love both the guitar and piano solos.
Solid mix, but the piano could have a bit more treble to better cut through.
Enjoyed the listen!

Nice chord progression.
fab band.
I wish there more melodic similarity between the solos...as if they were riffing from the same theme.
The song bops along nicely.
I did find the visuals distracting and was pleased to listen while typing.

Cheers

Hi Chay,

A very nice song. A nice melody and great sounding solos; the guitars and the piano.
This is probably your most 'western' sounding song that I have heard from you.
But the more eastern sounding songs were also very nice, I have to emphasize here.

The mix of the whole is very good. Everything sounds clear and lively.
Well done!

Hans

Thanks for the great response, J&B. Mike Durham, Danny Rader and Dave Cleveland are my 3 favourite BiaB session guitarists.

Thanks for the response, Brad. Yes, I agree re the John Jarvis piano-work. I've used his samples on a lot of my instrumentals.

Thanks for listening and responding B.D. Re adding treble to the piano - or reverb elsewhere as someone mentioned on one of my posts - whenever I try anything like I always prefer the original sound.

Thanks for the response, Ray. I actually prefer that the solos vary as besides the different styles adding to the dynamics, the instrumentals come across as organised jams, the soloists never ever playing in the rhythm sections. I agree re the visuals being distracting - it's always the case and a key delight of my life since I was knee-high to a 30' person is listening to long playlists in the comfort of a recliner, in a darkened room with my eyes closed. But I enjoy doing my own graphics and videos, plus as some others have found I get a better viewing/listening figures on YouTube than anywhere else.
