I am wondering if, in the future, human artists will rise up and demand that all AI music be labelled as such? Probably more likely in Europe, Commonwealth nations etc where a higher level of government regulation is accepted, but maybe not in the US? If this were to be the case, how could anyone tell if it wasn't labelled accordingly, especially if the tech develops to a point where those weird phasing noises etc are not present.

And where do we draw the line? Does a piece of music/a song need to have at least X% human input to be considered not AI? Is BIAB realtracks a form of AI? Maybe the difference is musically we need to input key sig, time sig, tempo and chords, melody, harmony and lyrics, but does this alone constitute human creativity? Is the BIAB Soloist AI? Regarding lyrics, it would be a long straw to suggest that AI could not produce lyrics that sounded drenched in authentic human experience - I know someone reading my lyrics would suggest I have led a shallow life and they must have been written by an algorithm. But could AI sing as naturally flawed as I can? blush

To use examples from my neck of the woods, would AI ever produce music as uniquely sounding as Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, Crowded House or Goldenhorse? Okay - it could copy it, but would it think it up originally?

If AI wrote a song, but a group of humans performed it, is that good? I think it is?!

Too many questions and not enough answers. I'm feeling depressed.
