Early MigrationAs most of you know, my lovely wife (Di) passed away early Tuesday morning this week. Her nickname on several sites was "Songbird". And, indeed, that's exactly what she was. She loved to sit at the window and watch the birds, particularly during their spring and autumn migration. Due to the early warming spring, their migration was a week or so early this year. Her favorite bird was the Hummingbird. I remodeled one of our bedrooms for her. It has a large double window. We live about a quarter mile from the Tennessee River. The migration was heavy this year. She got to see most of it. One day, a Baltimore Oriole and an Eastern Bluebird sat on her windowsill about an hour apart. They're not very common in this part of the country. That was quite a treat. I wrote this song for her just hours before she passed, knowing her time was close. Unfortunately, she never got to hear it. Perhaps she has since her passing. I hope some of you like it. I'm pretty sure she would have. Bye, Babe. Love ya. This one's for you. Sure do miss your angelic voice. You were the best. I can't listen to your music just now as SoundCloud won't let me listen without logging-in to the site. I've been having this issue for a couple of weeks: sometimes it simply lets my play and listen as always previously, sometimes I can't listen to the main post, but I can listen to the same post in the bottom bar, sometimes it throws up a log-in window which I can switch off and then listen, but today there is no bottom bar to click 'play' on and when I remove the log-in window it just comes back up when I try to play the main post.
I didn't know Di had passed on - that her planetary (biological) body has expired - but it's my gnosis that her psyche and spirit continue, Besides having had numerous experiences of passed on dear ones - mother, father, 2 aunts, 2 past on beloved partners and old friends of both genders, some more than once, I virtually nightly get spooked by my resident ghost, though I prefer the term 'discarnate human psyche'. I feel for you as I've obviously been there myself, but what's for certain is that Love never dies. Dwell in that Love, Al.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Oh, man, I actually burst out crying when I read this, Alan. I sat for a long time thinking about you two before pushing play. When I finally listened I thought of you more. She was a remarkable woman with a very remarkable husband. SO beautiful. SO sorry to hear of your loss, my friend. You always made it clear that her beuatiful soul made you a much better human. What a wonderful tune for her.

She always smiled and said: "Well, I guess you just have to be special." She was so right. She was beyond special. Several times I told her: "If I could talk to God face-to-face and ask for the perfect wife, He would have given me her." And He did. I was so blessed to have those years with her. She made me the man I'd always hoped to be." I sure do miss her. Alan

Alan, sorry for your loss, and your prior losses—takes lots of strength, I’m sure. I sometime think I must be a hell of a weakling, since the good Lord has spared me from the types of burdens you’ve faced. You certainly have brightened my world with your creativity, delivered with lots of love. Thanks for sharing yourself on this forum.

Great tribute. Alan. I felt like Di, through you, was as much a part of this forum as anyone. I know the loss hits hard. So few couples have a positive bond that lasted a lifetime - you're a lucky man. May her memory be a blessing.

Alan, I'm very sorry and saddened to hear about the loss of the love of your life. I have heard many beautiful songs from you and I'm pretty sure Di was the inspiration for many of them. And I know she will be, I wish you strength to continue to make lovely music.
And what a subject to your latest song, the spring migration of birds is the best time of the year to me here in Finland and I have enjoyed hearing those familiar voices again after the long winter. You seem to have very colorful birds there, thanks for sharing information about them and the story about your songbird watching them.
The song has a nice Carole King vibe, your excellent chord progression and the lush arrangement create a beautiful image of the arriving birds, but also heartbreaking sadness of the songbird who has left forever. The dizi flute is perfect addition to your touching piece.

Hi Alan.
This is such a beautiful composition. I love the Dizi flute and the band that you have assembled to perform is perfect. As I sat at my computer with my eyes closed, you music music carried me away. The title is a perfect fit.The song is also a superb, heartfelt tribute to Di. Your creation made me feel contemplative, calm and peaceful. What a wonderful gift for Di.
My sincere condolences to you and your family on Di's passing. --Noel

Alan My heart aches for you hearing about Di's passing. The love you shared with Di was evident in every word you wrote about her. It was a love that persevered and cherished every moment, and that is something truly beautiful and lasting. With deepest sympathy Izzy.

Beautiful and serene. I can picture Di sitting by the window watching the birds.

Alan,
I'm so, so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. You were so devoted to her, your love shone from every single character/letter you wrote on this forum, about her. I'm sure that she's listening from on high, and watching over you.
The track is so beautiful. A worthy tribute, I feel. It just soars. Just like a bird does.
The flute stands out in particular, for me.
Beautiful, beautiful song. Stay strong, friend.

Alan, what a wonderful tribute As you know God sent her those birds to view one last time. I was watery eyed as I listened to this knowing how much you two loved each other and how much you miss her. Loved it.
My momma didn't raise a fool. And if she did it, was one of my brothers.

We spend a LOT of time watching and listening to birds every day.
This is a beautiful tribute to Di.
It would be hard to imagine that she has not heard it and smiled multiple times. We hope she is surrounded by memories of you ... and humming birds.
❤️❤️❤️

So sorry for your loss Alan. I know Di had been struggling with her health. This is a beautiful song. Condolences to you and your family...
