Repeat After Me
-------------
Another song taken from brainstorming interesting-sounding titles. Perhaps advice from mentor to young mentee..
--------------------------------------

Don't let anyone take your place
Stand with dignity, grit and grace.
Keep your confidence, don't let go.
You're a miracle, that I know.

Child, you're sure to fall down
While your golden world runs off-track
And your foes will spin their stories
As they try to turn you back.

Don't think of the danger,
REPEAT AFTER ME:
Nothing can stop me now.

Everyone's battled the odds
And no one can flee the fire
But there's no doubting that lofty glory
That's the prize for reaching higher.

Don't worry 'bout nothing,
REPEAT AFTER ME:
Nothing can stop me now.

Take your place among towers of stone;
Show the tempter you're not alone.
Keep your confidence, don't let go.
You're a miracle, that I know.

Tom, nice tune! Like the musical theme you roll out in the intro and weave into the song throughout. Positive lyrics, cool melody and nicely sung. The BiaB band is interesting, too. The vocals are a TAD loud relative to the backing track to my ears, but what do I know? Great job!

Tom...really nice...great positive lyric and good marriage between your style and the content...I agree with Ron about the mix...perhaps some effect on the vocal would set it back into the mix and sweeten the pot a bit...love the title...thanks for posting this one.

Tom, great lyrics and vocal
I liked the backing tracks but I think your vocal is loud when compared to them. But that is just my opinion and others may not agree.
A great message in this song.
IMHO with a little polish this song would become a gem - Again just my opinion.

Hi Tom!
Oh yeah - this is ear candy! I love that intro motif you repeat throughout the song, but particularly like the intro version with piano set an octave lower? Cool.
The solo is a pleasing diversion, especially the piano 8ths playing in support. The e guitar finishes abruptly, and wondered if some reverb tail end on the last couple of notes would spill it over into the next section - joining the two as it were.
You’re very good at crafting melodies around diverse lyrical themes - I always look forward to your posts.

Yes, I like that approach as mentor to mentee. Cool bounce to the song. I tend to agree with Mario that the vocal could be lowered, but it's quality is so good that I'd keep it where it is. Excellent lyrics and harmony.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I assume the opening bass and piano are your creation? I like. I like your message and think this would be a good song for Saturday morning cartoon/shows..wait, I don't think they have those any more.

Hi, Tom.

Nice! Positive lyrics, well done.

As others have mentioned, the vocal should probably be pulled back so it sits better in the mix.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

A daddy's song to a child. Really like the rhythm section in this.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:

#58: Bring consciousness to it.
