I have a problem that I've never had before. In v.2015, I try to change the RD track, and the Mixer window shows the change, but still plays the original drums. The Drum track is enabled, I haven't changed anything. Any help? (Besides Return To Factory - been there)
I had that same problem this morning (with MIDI drums in BIAB2016). I ended up changing to a different MIDI style, selecting an RD, and it worked, then went back to the original style, selected an RD and it worked, so it appears to be somewhat intermittent. I didn't have automatic RD substitution on, but just tried to change the assigned MIDI drum track to a RealDrums track.

Thanks for responding John. It's weird. I did a RTF, re-booted, and I still can't change drum styles! Very frustrating!
Seems a few of us have had the drummer a little worse for wear, after the new year.
Usually when I have exhausted all other options its return to factory settings, if that doesn't work I try the last update, if that fails, then just a reinstall of the basic program itself, only takes a few mins.
Windows 10 (64bit) M-Audio Fast Track Pro, Band in a Box 2025, Cubase 14, Cakewalk and far too many VST plugins that I probably don't need or will ever use
Same here. No matter which Real Drums patch I select it's always the same one. Right now I have RealDrums=JazzBebopDannySticks but it's brushes all the way through. Also, it doesn't go to Style B after the first chorus. Any ideas anybody?

What version/build of BiaB are you running? Windows or Mac?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
I've had this happen in v 2022. Can't remember the exact cause but it was related to the intro being 2 bars and possibly using holds etc. If you have any kind of intro, try removing it and see if that does anything. Make sure song starts at bar 1.
Does the RealDrum change if you select a different Style that uses a different drum?
Since going to Options | Return to Factory Settings did not resolve the issue, please close Band-in-a-Box, go to your bb folder (usually c:\bb\preferences, but it can start with a different letter if you installed to an external drive), and delete the following two files:
Mysetup.dk intrface.bbw
Next, please right click on your Band-in-a-Box shortcut and select Properties | Compatibility | check "Run program as administrator" and click apply. Then just double click on your Band-in-a-Box icon to launch the program.

What package type are you running for 2015? Pro, MegaPAK, UltraPAK, etc? Was it on an external HD? Did you happen to do a split install? Do any error messages pop up at all when you try and make the switch?
I've just updated my BIAB 2022 UltraPak to build 926, and easily reproduced the problem described in this post from seven years ago.
1. Open app to chord chart view with default style and C-major chord. 2. Pressed space-bar to play briefly then stop. 3. Right-click on Drums in Mixer pane and select Find Best Sub for... 4. Make RealDrums selection. 5. Press Ok. 6. Press space-bar to play and observe no change in drum track.
I want to restate that this post started SEVEN YEARS AGO.
Any thoughts out there among the Illuminati?
Is there some other more central place for bug/anomaly reports?
ADVthanksANCE
-Jack (still same drums in central Texas)
PS: I did delete the dot-bk and dot.bbw files and restarted the computer. PPS: Retired computer programmer. Guilty as charged.
And here I sit in 2026, a mere 10 years after this thread started, and nearly 2 years after my last post in this thread, I'm having an issue changing the RealDrums selection in my song files in my spiffy new 2026 version of BiaB.
First, I created the entire song with the first slow blues style I ran into, which used one of the Nashville128 RealDrums series.
Then, I went looking for something a little more interesting and found a Texas Blues slow blues style that featured drums with a nice slushy half open hihat. In the first bar selection blue box, Snare, Hi Hat Loose was selected. See Texas Blues Rock song file below. This is the SGU file for the demo version of the style.
So, when i opened my original song file, and right clicked on the first bar section select blue box, there was no selection for Snare, Loose Hi Hat present in the Nashville128 RealDrum package. See the selection details in My original song file below.
Then, I right clicked on the RealDrums=Nashville128 in the Mixer window and changed the RealDrums selection to the BluesRock 128^6.
When I auditioned my song file, it still played the previous Nashville128 drums. And, when I right clicked on the first bar section select blue box, I noticed that there was no selection available for Snare, Hi Hat Loose. Also, the RealDrums selection text had changed to RealDrums=BluesRock128^6. This was misleading because the actual drums being played were still the Nashville128. Also, when I closed the file, I was not asked to save changes.
I closed the Band-In-A-Box application, and relaunched it.
It came up as shown in New App Instance below. When I hit the space bar to play in the default window, it played with the slushy hihat drums that wanted. The RealDrums selection shows BluesRock128^6, and the right click details show a selection for Snare, Hi Hat Loose.
Doesn't this indicate that the BluesRock drums are actually present in my system, even though they are not being accessed in my song file?
Is the attribute I am changing immune to changes, or am I missing something here?
If I am not actually changing the drum selection, why is the text changing but not the actual drum selection?

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
