Has anyone else experienced this? When I "Edit Audio" neither "kill entire audio" nor "erase audio choruses" does bupkis. I can edit the audio in the "audio edit" window by selecting all and hitting delete.
Just curious if anyone else has this broken from the menu structure. I often do multiple takes, and though the utility tracks are a godsend here, I have decades of muscle memory deleting audio via the menu.

NOBODY? I tried this on my laptop, with the same results. Doesn't anyone here record themselves playing acoustic instruments or sing with BIAB?

I imported several audio files onto the Audio Channel and had no issues either erasing audio or killing audio from the Audio Channel drop down menu and from the Audio Button at the top of the screen.

I also opened the Audio Editor screen and did some edits on the audio file and all of the options to erase the audio track worked normally on my system.

All recording is done in Reaper here.

I only record in my DAW, Presonus Studio One Pro 5. I have found that recording in a DAW is much easier than recording in BiaB. You have a DAW in RealBand. YMMV

I'm not sure that's the same thing. I'm not trying to IMPORT audio files. I am trying to RECORD audio tracks on BIAB as I have for over 10 years. I know how to use Realband as well as Cakewalk, Audigy, Reaper, Studio One. It's just a quick and dirty method I've gotten used to and like but now fails. I don't know how anything could be easier for simple stuff (where I want to try multiple styles etc.)

Hi,

I have BIAB 2021.

I just loaded a song with audio attached. I then opened that track in the Audio editor and the "Kill Audio" option under "Audio" on the main, upper menu deleted the track. It worked fine.

Before you use "kill", do you save the song first? This might make a difference.

Regards,
Noel

I went back and recorded audio, edited the audio and erased and killed the audio features from the mixer, from the Audio Button and from the Audio Menu and also was able to selectively kill and erase the middle chorus of the three chorus's from that Audio Menu option. I had never noticed or used that option before but on my system, erasing the audio file works normally on all occasions.

All seems to be working correctly here to PhillyJazz. Have you tried a "return to factory settings"? Try "most" first, that way you'll preserve you audio drivers and PAT files if you use those.

A "return to factory settings" (RTFS) seems to be a required step in the newer 2021 updates. Don't know why, but it sometimes works.

Tried all of the above (I've been a BIAB user since DOS version 1.) Finally figured if I click the "Audio Chord Wizard" once, everything behave as normal and I can delete and re-record audio as I used to. Not sure why this is, but at least, it's a work-around. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I finally figure this out. I have over 16,000 songs in my "favorites" folder. It had been backed up and restored, and moved multiple times over the years. I simply rebuilt the list and now all is well.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
