I figured it out on my own. Everything works perfectly. THanks anyway!

I’m demoing Magix Samplitude Pro 3 DAW. I think I chose the correct settings to get my Behringer X-Touch to work using the Mackie Control preset. It shows no sign of life. I know everything works in other programs. I assume there must be some checkbox somewhere that I missed.

No support is available until Monday. Forum and YouTube searches have not worked. The Samplitude manual and Help don’t help.

Thanks if you have the solution.

Just now learning basics of this one and those of a few others like you are as well as a bunch of new complex plugs - HALion6, Independence, AKAI VIP - that thing has lots of promise)

I don't have a B. X-touch (only thing I use, when it works is a Korg NanoKontrol and/or Nanopad) but the apparent guru of Samlitude (forumite name Kraznet, his posts remind me of MAC and YOU combined re: BIAB) looks like he has it figured it out - he was trying to make video back in AUGUST!

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/advice-needed-for-filming-behringer-x-touch--108424/

so if anyone knows he probably does, so might have to be patient after querying the site and him (grasshopper)

Larry, thank you! I did figure it out. It was my error on the dialog box setting it up. I'm all set.

To replace SONAR, I tried many DAWs over the past month and bought Mixcraft. Although I like it, it would not display MIDI well enough for me, so I am now trying Samplitude. So far, it looks very good, and the price for the crossgrade (until tomorrow) is terrific.

Glad you got it going but just an FYI (and for other Samplitude noobs as well):

Have you loaded a possibly better clone by looking in the

When you open the File -> Program Preferences -> System\Audio -> Hardware Controller -> Addnew? That in-turn opens up a list of factory presets

These control panel (.CPSXML’s) (presets)appear to be maintained in the

Your drive letter and path to…

….\MAGIX\templates&FX\Controlpanels\SamControlpanelB2\FactoryPresets

Loading a Preset in that tab obviously populates the other tabs in the “Hardware Controller” page.

Your question got me playing with it. And I stumbled onto the above directory which has a factory preset for a Korg NanoKcontrol as well as a version of my Alesis VX49 – the Alesis V49) from those presets I should be able to figure out how to add a NanoPad to stuff as well as assign knobs/sliders from larger keyboards (Fusion, Montage…)

this info might help others tweak an existing preset to work better with their particular surfaces

Good Luck
Larry

EDIT UPDATE

for KORG Users go to this video then he he ha a link showing what to set to set (or check) on your Korg Kontrol using the Korg editor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFSPbwM1IH8

these settigns I THINK are meant to be used with HIS version of the .cpsxml on same google drive page - not tried it yet myself yet however

Thanks again. I had to call the Behringer X-Touch a Logic Control for Mixcraft, but Mackie Control worked fine for Samplitude. I will look at those other choices you gave, though, Appreciate it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
