Punchy stuff Robert! I like it. Nice construction and well put together. The only engineering thing that stood out for me was the vocal doesn't sound like it's in the same space as the instruments. They have some room reverb so I would add a similar touch to the dry vocal and it'll sit better in the mix.

I like this. It's probably one of the better P&W songs I have heard here on the PG forums.
On the mix, I agree that vox doesn't sound like it's a part of the group.... it sounds like it's in a totally different space.
I'd like to know what tracks you used on this....especially the drums. The drums on this are what makes it unique. Are they BB/RT, synth drums, or live?
Just curious, what book were you reading? And what did you learn and try in this?

Robert,
Nice. Good sounding mix...I agree that a bit of reverb on the vocal would make it sit in the mix... also, with herb on the request for your track list (particularly the drums)...
Great tag line in this... "heart mind soul strength Lord I give all to Thee"
Good to see you around once in a while...

Hi Robert.
Nice to see you posting again.
Great song and a nice clean mix. I've got to agree with those who suggested a bit of reverb on the vox and although no one else has mentioned this, for me the bass could come up a bit. I'm listening on the big Tannoys and the bass still sounds slightly lost in the mix.
Still a good sound, though.
ROG.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I edited the original post and added the list of instruments as well as reverb to the vocal per your suggestions, and left both version up. Those who heard the original version, let me know what you think since the reverb was added to the vocal if you have time. Below is just the reverb version Thanks! Heart, Mind, Soul, Strength with Reverb added

Hi Robert.
Definitely an improvement. For me it could even stand a bit more for this type of song, but then I've been accused of using too much anyway, so it's probably about right!

Very nice. That reverb did the magic.
Nice stuff..... I will have to check out the real drum P&W tracks since it is as close to that genre as I've ever heard..... loved the snare work in that track....

very engaging chord progression here. I listened to the reverbed version and it sounded just right.
I thought I heard room for a simple harmony at the end

Good to hear you Robert.
It sounds good with the added reverb. I'm with ROG, even a little more on this song would be cool but it's fine as it is. What I'm missing is harmony. There are spots where it's just begging for it. Don't you just love it, you think ah it's finished and people like me chime in and suggest more....LOL!
(BTW, a little OT, but how is your son doing with his rap stuff?)

I'm late to the party and didn't hear the early version, etc., but, man, this one cooks all the way around. It's a fine lyric, vocal and production. I'm with Josie in that a little harmony would ice the cake!
