I finally got some time to listen to some songs.

As usual another excellent blend and choice of MIDI and RTs from Mike.

I really enjoyed this one!

PS I see a keyboard in the background of your Soundcloud picture. Are you playing the leads on this?

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Thanks for the listen guys, Mario, no, that background stuff is mostly for show, do not play keyboard per se, just use it mostly to step record and modify in some way midi stuff. My instrument of choice has always been the drums and latin percussion, although I'm in a band no more, so I create music with BB and other software and give tips on drum playing to my grandson who's learning how to play.

Take care

Mike B.

Hey Mike.

Great track. I like the way you've captured such a good live band sound.

What really made it for me was the bass solo - just fabulous.

Very atmospheric track.

A nice pleasant track, you really have latin nailed. I could imagine a Santana guitar fitting in there.

As ROG said "Very atmospheric track."
Your mixes are superb. With this style
there is a lot going on and you are very
good at giving each track it's place. Nothing
steps on each other and the soundscape
is outstanding. As a bass player it is great
to hear a solo!!

Enjoyed it.

Very sweet tune Mike!! Just rolls along so nicely. Puts me in the mood for a beach and a nice rum drink. Very nicely put together. You've created a very organic sound here. I love the upright solo as well. Great stuff!! Take care. Greg

Many jazz songs were written by taking the chord changes of an existing song and writing a new melody to those chord changes.

The new song is a "contrafact" of the existing tune.

Jazz Contrafacts WIKI

What you've done here sounds like a nice contrafact of the theme to Black Orpheus (Manhã De Carnaval).

Hey Dani, nice to hear from you my friend! Thanks for the comments, you're too kind.
Also thanks to all of you whom have taken the time to listen to my tune. As far as the contrafact, it is true that a lot of jazz tunes are created using an existing chord progression, then again not exclusive to jazz, many latin very well known songs are created that way too. In this case I'm not going to argue whether this is the case but no denying that it happens to maybe share some similarities by that compo0sed by Luiz Bonfá for the movie. In any case I'm glad you all liked it.

Mike B.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
