Hey ya’ll,

Here’s our latest folk rock song. Little foot tapper inspired by a comment overheard one day at the grocery.

Started in BB with Brit style real tracks. Additional tracks recorded in Realband and Garageband. Mixed in Tracktion.

We appreciate your feedback. Hope you enjoy it.

Josie & Dean,

Great song, great lyrics, your vocals are great.
The mix is not too complex, just complimentary to your vocals with
its lyrics.

Wife and I took one of our twice weekly drives to town.
On the way we, well at least I had commented to her that bulk of
people are NOT listening. Exactly like your lyrics covered.

Thanks to you folks for sharing this "First Class" production.

It’s all been said. Excellent vocals and backing tracks. Your mix, especially with the vocal and the drums, were perfect for this song. You coupled that with some very profound lyrics.

I loved it! This is a keeper.

Nothing against Robert (I like his vocal style), but it was nice to hear Josie take the lead on this one. This is a great toe-tapping song with a great message.

Nice work! I really liked the harmonies, and the mix is nice and clear with a good balance. I enjoyed the echoed part on "round and round" and the cut on the guitar before the final verse - very effective.

All in all, nicely done.

Minor nit - right after "That girl won't listen" there's a spot where all the instruments cut at the same time, that could possibly be made a bit smoother.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Tommyc - Thank you very much! Appreciate it.

Seeker - I used to be the store and think someone was talking to me and then realize they were on a phone. I'm amazed how many people carry on conversations while they shop. Thank you for the compliments on the production and the song.

Mike - Thank you! For our duo projects we like the folk rock too.

Mario - Thank you for the kind words! The mix is pretty sparse on this one - glad it worked.

John - Thank you very much! So glad you like it.

David - Thank you! I tried several new things on the mix - compression and eq on the bass. The hpf on the acoustic guitars set higher. (Thanks for that most excellent advice from another thread.) And I experimented with some other little adjustments. I was concerned that overall the mix might be too bright or the bass too loud. Bob double checked it for me on his system. This time of year I fight with allergies so sometimes I'm not sure if it's mix noise or my ears.

Noel - Thank you! Always appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

Bob & Josie,

I've been out of pocket for several weeks (working a LOT of hours, and my daughter had her baby 3 weeks ago), so I almost missed this song. Glad I didn't! As you know I am a big fan of you guys. Your writing always challenges and inspires me. And this song did not dissapoint.

Keep up the good work!

Steve

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
