This title has been written a number of times, but I took a stab at it anyway. The basic track is the realtrack "Gentle Even Acoustic Pop w Cello". I added a piano (#2503, held chords) and a string quartet (#2335, rhythm pophall).
Vocals added & mixed in Logic Pro X. I used a couple of handfuls of plugins, mostly Waves stuff and Antares Autotune Pro.

***DISCLAIMER*** sibilance haters might want to pass on this one smile I de-essed the crap out of it, but it still has some spots. Oh well. Close enough for an old guy.

The Art Of Letting Go

Lyric below.

The Art Of Letting Go

No I didn’t call you to tell you I’m sorry
I’ve already said all that
And I wouldn’t dream of giving you reasons
Why I should have one more chance
I’ve finally turned a corner and I just thought you should know
I think that I’ve learned the art of letting go –

It took me a while and it wasn’t easy
But I’ve come a long, long way
And though it’s true I still think of you often
I don’t miss you every day
The nights have been more of a problem, I’ve struggled with sleeping alone
But I think I’ve learned the art of letting go -

BRIDGE:
But if somehow your mind ever changes at all
Hang on to my number
And I promise I’ll answer if you ever call –

You’re sure being quiet, it’s late and I’ll bet you’re
Ready to go to bed
I sure hope that I haven’t hurt or upset you
With anything that I’ve said
I’m glad that I’ve put you behind me cause if the truth be told
You already know the art of letting go

You already know the art of letting go –

This professional all the way. Super vocals with a great backing track. This is "air play" ready IMHO.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Another pro effort, I really enjoyed it. I looked at the lyrics and thought perhaps there were too few syllables in the hook line, but you sang right into the words and made it work quite well.

The sibilance wasn't too bad actually - you tamed it quite a bit I think. the compressor attack setting on the voice may be a little slow as many syllables at the start of a phrase or word have a "crack" to them.
BUT
Cool song, well sung and arranged.
I enjoyed it.

Cheers

A nice one Roger...
I got so into the song...
I didn't hear any auditory problems...
Perhaps thats what happens when you hear a well-written song smile!

Really well done, Roger smile It's beautifully written, and your vocals really tug on the heart strings with this one. It is tender and very sincere. A prime example of less is more, for me. I thought the choice to keep the instrumentation stripped back was a great call. Really gives everything room to breathe, and helped those vocals hit all the more strong.

You should be proud of this one. Thanks for sharing!

Good write, the emotional beats worked for me.

I'm with Jim on this - whatever problems there might have been in the mix, I didn't hear at all, because I was pulled into the song.

Nice mix, good singing, pro work.

Nicely done, I enjoyed the song. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Really powerful and beautiful melody, touching lyrics, and you are singing them with full of heart. The cello and strings work perfectly for this type of ballad.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
