Holy Guacamole. A man is absent for a couple of weeks from the forum, and you guys and gals go into creative overdrive. I will do my best to catch up with as many of your songs as possible, but I think it's going to be nigh impossible to catch up with them all ... argh :-( Still - as many as I possibly can! :-)

Anyway, one more from me. See how you feel about it, if you like? I'm of course grateful for every single listen and comment.

This one seems to have "slipped through the cracks" :-) . Shamelessly bumping it up, this one time, because I would be really curious about your feedback to it. But, of course, if no-one comments this time, I won't bump it up again. Hope this is ok? :-)

Holy Guacamole! I'd say you spent your time wisely, James. Although I miss your vocal, this is such an excellent write. You're right, this pone should be heard by many. That piano score is top-shelf. I first saw it listed as a BiaB track, but knew we can't control them to such demands. So very well written. Sounds great!

Enjoy whatever happens!

James,
The highlight of your waltz for me is the solo piano- I wouldn`t know how to score something like this, but it sounds good.
I was a bit surprised with the RT piano-almost a piano duet in parts- it works, though I wondered if there were strings instead the lead piano might shine more.
You were right to bump...I can`t keep up with all the quickly disappearing songs around here either!

Marty: as ever, ever so kind. I'm amazed that you miss my vocal - no-one's said THAT before, haha ... they mostly run away when I try to sing, haha ... but I'm grateful, of course, for you saying it :-))) Thanks so much for all your kindness and kind comments :-)

Robert: thanks ever so much. All I did was to write out the piano melody in Musescore 4, and then mix it with the BIAB tracks in Mixcraft - just a question of finding the right balance and, of course, backing track. You have a very good point about the strings instead of piano - but I loved that off-beat rhythm I found in this RealTrack, in the piano part ... and, for the life of me, I couldn't find it in any other track, so this one stayed :-) . And yes, it's so hard to keep up with everyone on here ... I will continue to do my best, though - including re-listening to "The Other Side of Silence" ... thank you so much for your kind explanation of the lyrics, there!!! :-)

I agree with what Robert said, the piano makes this song very good.
IMO it doesn't need vocals, I enjoyed the song as it is now.

James,
It's quite a lovely piece.
My one thought was the bass is a little aggressive in tone which makes it seem louder than it is. Rolling off the top end of it should see it sitting in support.

Cheers

Sounds great James.
Super piano score!
I do agree with Ray as the bass does sound overpowering in spots, however this sounds great as is.

This works for me!

The piano melody makes it coherent and gives it direction. It's got your chord changes, but it's easy to hear the structure behind it.

Nice!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Ray: yes, some of the bass - and even some of the RealTrack piano, I feel - is a bit overbearing, indeed! I'll deal with it, in due course :-) I didn't really know what to do, prior to your comment, besides lowering the volume, haha ... thanks for taking the time to listen, you're kind.

Mario: Thanks :-)

David Cuny: I'm so glad you liked this one - thanks! :-)

Hi James,

This works well as an instrumental thanks to the piano track as others have mentioned, it's right on the money.

Good job!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
