I was watching an old TV show called “Lost in Space” when it dawned on me that Lost was this quarter’s Kara-Moon theme. I was already working on some short pieces and I thought why not combine them into one and call it Lost in Space . So what I have here is:
Stage 1 – intro and blastoff
Stage 2 – something going wrong with the 2nd stage liftoff separation
Stage 3 – lost in space
Stage 4 – the warning

I added a little bit of humor in also.

My apologizes up front to TV and movie Sci-Fi aficionados!

Sounds great, Mario. One suggestion. Is that a distorted guitar that is in the background? Whatever it is, bring it up a lot. I kept waiting for it to blastoff but it never did.

I would follow the other comment about the guitar part needing to be higher in the mix. Very creative mix! Thanks for sharing!

Pretty impressive, Mario, and I liked the humor bits, too.

And, just to let you know, I've downloaded and am playing Star Trek Online, so you'll know that I'm a SciFi nut. LOL

Wonderful mix

I'll agree with bringing the guitar up a tad.

Thanks for sharing

Thanx all for listening and the very kind words.

Charlie – I played around with that level for quite a while. I found that if it was just a tad louder it messed up the blend. I tried compressors, limiters etc and it still didn’t fit right. I’ll take another look at this at a later date. Thanx for bringing it up.

Gary – I’ve been a Sci-Fi nut now for many many years! I started with books back in grade school! Books still are my first choice however some of the movies are good also. Have you ever seen the TV shows “Babylon 5” or “Farscape”? Two of my favorite shows ever! I also love the movies “Galaxy Quest” and “SpaceBalls”!

Mario,
I used to watch B5 and Farscape, for a while, but then found that my attention span just grew too short to care about them. Galaxy Quest was campy and funny, Tim Allen did a great job. SpaceBalls? Rick Moranis and Mel Brooks? How can you go wrong? 'We're PLAID!!!'

Hi Mario,

Love it! The musical humor is terrific. I have no criticism at all - and I really tried VERY hard to find something negative to say . Everything about the song works perfectly for me To quote a well-known forum user, "this one's a keeper!"

"They went plaid!" is one of the best lines ever! John Candy was superb in this movie.

That was another interesting and thoroughly enjoyable production! For a little more fun, how about a little robotic/electronics effect on your "danger, danger" vocals?

Interesting that you should mention that John. I tried and tried using a vocoder and a ton of different sounds to get that robot effect but I was unsuccessful so I just gave up on it.

Mario you are one spaced out guitarist Mate. Fantastic work of art here. The only thing I can think of is to make your voice more harsh. It's too soft and lacks the fear drive. Try backing up another 3 to 40 inches and push harder with your vox. It would add more realism to it. Other than that it's great.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
