In case you haven't heard, the cheap version of Amplitube is selling for a rediculous price of $15 at AudioMIDI.com. It's not a bad version of AT with 3 amps (Fender, Marshall, and a bass amp) and a nice bunch of standard pedals (compressor, chorus, overdrive, tremelo, delay, etc.). It's also download-only, so you'll get it right away.

I couldn't resist, myself and bought it. I tried it out this evening with my Tele and it's pretty good. And, yes, it works like any other VST plugin - it's just a reduced feature version. I don't care for their "authorization" procedure, but it only took about 2 minutes to complete and I've never really had problems with IK Multimedia. You have to "register" the serial number, before you can download the software from the IK site. That was the only confusing part.

Anway, here's the page for anyone interested: http://www.audiomidi.com/AmpliTube-2-Live-No-Brainer-Deal--P12970.aspx

Now, if you want more and you want the full version of Amplitube 2, I also noticed the Esoundz has it for $100 (free ground shipping). That's a steal, IMO, even with the new version is coming out this month. I guess the real question is whether or not the new version will be $200 better...

Personally, I'm fine with the AT2 Live plugin and Guitar Rig 3, but if you've been wanting a high quality software amp sim, that would be a great one to consider.
