Heya,
Wondering if there's any news that anyone's heard, or if there are any plans to bring BIAB to iPad as a standalone app?
As a musician that's constantly travelling and using my iPad for the majority of my music related needs, it'd be great to be able to have BIAB on the go, and not just on my computer at home - or have to carry a laptop with me as well. Right now I'm using iReal Pro which... I mean, it gets the basics done, but it's no BIAB.
Given that BIAB is now running on Apple Sillicon, sure, there'd be work to make the UI more iPadOS friendly, but the core engine and the really hard work is already done. At least, that's what I'd assume, as an iOS dev myself and a BIAB user.

I guessing about 0 chance, at least in the next 2-4 years.
IPAD/Iphone not really compelling hardware platforms for resource hungry apps like BIAB. Rendering tracks is CPU and RAM. The ipad/phone just doesn't have it.... yet.
Perhaps one day IOS and MacOS will coalesce. Perhaps.
Meantime I'm happy if PG Music focus on making the Mac OS product equal (or better) to the Win product. They've got their hands full.
I'm really hoping they don't wander back down the road of the IOS bbServer product again. That really didn't amount to very much. Would have rather spent the time/effort on a native Apple silicon version of the flagship. But thats just my opinion.
I've been wrong before. Might happen again..... today.

I think BiaB is too library and folder based to exist on an iPad. As Sir Geeze pointed out to much going on. I did try the iPad bb server thing a while back yes it worked, just not super well. A lot of work.
One suggestion is save the songs as stems and open then in iOS for GarageBand. Might just work for what you need.
Another idea is a Microsoft surface tablet. The upper levels of those are pretty powerful. Kind of expensive but if it is for your livelihood hey it could be great. Since they are touch controlled it could be a great setup.

Until BIAB becomes Apple Silicon Native, there is no chance that any of it can be ported to iPadOS.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
