The subject says it all..... FYI, I'm using BinaB 2023 and have loaded the updates. Using Logic Pro 10.2.2 and is as current as I get it.
I have reloaded and refreshed all the sound libraries in Logic, and reloaded Band in a box 2023. Please note that this was fine with the 2021 Band version.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?

Ask away.........Thanks

I'm assuming you are talking about the AU BiaB plugin. There was a bug specifically with one recent version of the DAW plugin that caused a validation error when loading Logic - this was fixed in 5.5.2 which was included with build 705 of the main program. Can you double-check that you have that one, and if you do can you describe in more detail what happens when you try to load it?

Thanks for your response. I've re installed updates 705 and 704, restart and, no change.

As Logic starts up, and alert advises that;

"While verifying Audio Unit compatibility, Logic Pro X encountered 1 Audio Unit plug-in(s) which did not pass the Apple AU validation. These plug-ins have been excluded from further usage in Logic Pro X to prevent possible problems or crashes. You can start the Plug-In Manager now to review the validation results or continue the startup process"

I have reinstalled the Logic's sound library. As before, the only exception in the listing is the Band in a Box that can't be verified.

FYI, in Logix, I have reviewed the System and Logic preferences for in/out preference and everthings seems ok.... Focustite in and out.
The same holds true for BB.

Tryuk, thank for the suggestion however, there must be a fix for this as the plugin did work at one time, so I don't think it's my system.

I'm an old dog and I don't like new tricks. I'm not ready to make the investment in new gear despite the fact that some of the advantages in a newer Logic program which really really interesting, but my currect setup does everything that I need it do do, well almost.

Cheers

On your Mac hard drive, go to /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components. Click on "Band-in-a-Box DAW AU Plugin.component", and press Commnand+I (get info). Can you confirm that it does say build 5.5.2 there?

Thanks for the info. Are you able to manually enable the plugin? I.E. open the Plugin Manager in Logic and select Show all, then click the "Use" checkbox. Does it work?

No, it should be easy...

1. Apple menu | System Preferences | Users & Groups.
2. Click the lock icon to allow changes and enter your password.
3. click the Plus symbol and it will allow you to create an account.

Now you can Log Out (Apple menu) of your current account, and log in to the account you created.

If you run Logic now it will either work or not work (i.e. same error). That is what we want to know. You don't need to keep using this account, it is just a test and will not change anything (you can log back into your normal account)

That was easy.... No changes in the result. Can't open file and the validation notification still comes up.
Is it ok to remove the account.

Note. When I was starting Logic it had to go through loading the plugins. It stopped and requested that I register Synthmaster One. I already had Synthmaster as a plugin in Logic that I got from my Fishman Midi Guitar controller. I have not used S1 in the Band in a Box program. could there be a connection?

No, not connected, and you can probably remove the account if you want. Thanks for doing that test. I think we'll have to hunt down a log file on your system with the validation results in it. I will have to get back to you about this on Monday.

I have MacBook Pro 2015 i7, internal 1tb hard, 16gb memory. Using Big Sur and the latest version of Logic Pro. I updated biab version (705). But my daw’s biab show the words playing but you don’t hear or see the progress moving from one chord to another. I am also using a 10tb external hard drive. I have always used a pc until my brother convince me to buy a Mac. Never have I had problems with pc apps. The mac’s Biab version is the only app I know has so many problems. In addition, when I run the independent biab, it doesn’t play the correct chords at the bridge. Is anyone else having these problems? Jerry says the developing team is looking into this matter. I been waiting for two weeks and still no solution.
Any suggest?

Hi Hogman,

Please do this:

1. Open a Terminal window. One way to do this is to press Command+Spacebar (this brings up spotlight), and type "Terminal", then press enter.

2. In the Terminal window, first type (or copy and paste) the following command and press Enter.

auval -a

This will list all of the AU plugins installed on your system. Verify that you see in the list somewhere: "PG Music Inc.: Band-in-a-Box DAW AU Plugin
Does it output any error messages?

3. Next, type the following command and press Enter.

auval -v aumu Oaw8 Manu

Note that is a capital O, not a zero, in Oaw8

This will test the Band-in-a-Box DAW Plugin specifically. Copy everything it says (maybe about 50 lines or so), and paste into your reply. You can copy text in the Terminal just like you would expect, by dragging to highlight, and press Command+C to copy.

I'm assuming it will list some sort of error message, which we would like to see.
===============================

There is one other thing to try as well in the meantime, although I don't think this will make a difference since you experience the same problem in a different user account as we found out in our test earlier. But for what it's worth:

- Go to ~/Library/Caches, and delete the folder "AudioUnitCache". As a shortcut to get to this folder, you can press Command+Shift+L. This hotkey gets you into the user "Library" folder, which you don't normally see because it is a hidden folder. From there, you can open the Caches folder and you should find that AudioUnitCache subfolder in there.

- After you do that, back in the Terminal window, run this command (or alternatively reboot the Mac):

killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar

- Then, run the auval scan again and see if there's any difference.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
