Hi Misha ...

Thank you very much. That was very kind of you to say. As far as the vocal pops, please see my reply to Marty (Babu) about that. It also happens in my everyday conversations if I have to speak very loudly.

Again, thanks a bunch!

Vocal is up-front in a good way. Made me feel like I was sitting at a table right in front of the stage. Enjoyed the listen.

Hi Alan,

Terrific song, melody and feel. Also really liked your vocals - this type of music really suits your voice.

A couple of minor suggestions:

1. Vocals - I like the upfront treatment. Maybe take a little off the vocals in the lower frequencies to stop any mic proximity effect. This is only apparent in some phrases.

2. Bass - every now and then the bass plays a deep bass note and it pops right out of the mix. Easily fixed in the mix - no need to re-record.

I only make these kind of suggestions on songs I really like.

Great work.

Best Regards
Nigel

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Y’all sure wrote a good one Alan, and the sentiment is, per Janice, divine! She said she was imagining you singing in front of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. You sound great.

The trumpet solo is really good.

“Eternity's forever, and that's what I have in mind
That's how long I'll love you dear, forever and all time”

This is most enjoyable!

I'm far from an expert in this genre, but I can imagine Frank Sinatra singing something like this.
Well done, and well sung.

Alan...what a great old-time swing ballad...all it needs is a nightclub setting and you in a three piece pinstripe...I love your arrangement and how you presented the orchestra in such an authentic and period-friendly manner...sounds great!

First, I hope you and Di are doing better.

Second, another classic from Alan done to perfection.
I can hear 'ol' blue eyes" singing this one.
I can hear Chet Baker on the trumpet.

Great song

Hi David,

I'm truly delighted you enjoyed the song. Well, the injury wasn't so interesting at the time! Painful & scary are the two words that come to mind. I used to have a relatively deep voice - the mid-to higher end of baritone. But at least I can still speak so, it's all good! Well, I suspect not everyone would agree with that! But, you know ...

Again, thanks so much.

Alan

Now, aren't you folks just way too nice!!! I rarely wear a hat but I suspect the next time I do, it might not fit. And singing in front of Nelson Riddle and his guys - yeah, that would have worked! They weren't too shabby. But ---- I wonder how many folks here remember Nelson Riddle. Does the song:"Route 66" come to mind, anyone?

Thanks again!

Alan

Mr. Thomas ...

The only things I'm an expert at is saying "Yes, Ma'am" and "Would you like that today or yesterday?" to my wife. But, Sinatra works! You bet!!!

Thanks a bunch for the very nice comments. Much appreciated!

Hi Dan,

All of that is awfully kind of you to say. Thank you so much! And, back in the 70s, I actually had a three-piece, pin-striped suit. Back then, almost anything with flared legs and a really big collar was in style - as well as bright patterns that would make Stevie Wonder squint.

Thanks, my friend. You are too kind.

Hi Mario,

I'm doing relatively well but Di continues to struggle with her health. We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I like your analogies. Had that ever happened, I would probably be able to afford extra pickles on my Big Mac, on the rare instance I eat one. Maybe even the large fries! Yeah!!!

Thank you very much for your encouraging and extremely kind comments. wishing you everything good.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
