For the new forum software, you’ll want to go into preferences and find your time zone (mine is -5 hours) and Save your preferences.

For the new forum software, you’ll want to go into preferences and find your time zone (mine is -5 hours) and Save your preferences. Thanks -- yes, it previously went by server time offset value in hours, and now it's based on actual time zones, defaulting to no time zone (UTC) It would make sense for us to try and apply a sensible time zone for existing users based on the offset value. But yes, otherwise a visit to Preferences and select a time zone from the drop-down menu.

I figured it out fairly quickly, One interesting observation is that it automatically observes if Daylight Saving Time is operating at the nominated location. This is a bonus as previously I had to change the offset twice a year. Good one

Observation Question:
Since I am in Springfield, Missouri, USA, which is currently -5 behind UTC, when Daylight Savings goes into effect on November 5th, will I have to go in and change the preferences manually to -6 behind UTC or will the new Forum software correct it automatically.
It will be interesting to see.

Observation Question:
Since I am in Springfield, Missouri, USA, which is currently -5 behind UTC, when Daylight Savings goes into effect on November 5th, will I have to go in and change the preferences manually to -6 behind UTC or will the new Forum software correct it automatically.
It will be interesting to see. It worked for me straight out of the box. Melbourne Australia is normally UTC +10 and UTC +11 during DST. We are currently in DST. When I selected Melbourne Australia for the timezone, it was automatically already showing UTC +11

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
