A goofy song written near the end of the pandemic. I had been cooped up too long..... https://fredgrittner.bandcamp.com/track/watching-the-world-go-byHarmony vocal: Dale Jernberg Watching the World Go By Mama done told me I missed the boat Wore off the numbers On the tv remote Hunger and anger Battlefield scenes Now and then unusual Homecoming queens CHORUS: Watching the World Go By Watching the World Go By After the laughter I’ll have a good cry Watching the World Go By Ain’t superstitious Don’t like cottage cheese Finally found out Bad things come in threes My baby deserted Boxed up the blame Put it on display At the Fools Hall of Fame CHORUS Crossed all my t’s Dotted my i’s What did that get me? A bad case of hives Hate to see changes No matter how small Lying on the floor Leaves no place to fall CHORUS Copyright 2022 Fred Grittner All Rights Reserved

Hi Fred,
I'm always happy to see a new one from you. As I've said several times before - I really enjoy your vocals and lyrics. And here's another one to justify that statement. Lyrics are appropriate for the time and your vocal is smoother than warm butter.
I wasn't overly fond of the guitar lead - I think an acoustic lead would have fitted better. But, just my opinion, FWIW. I did like the mandolin, though.
Another terrific song from on of my favorite singers.
Take care,
Alan
PS: Dale did a nice job on the harmony.

Fred, this is the best song about the pandemic that I have ever heard. I think we all were watching the world go by. The backing band was spot on. Your vocals and Dale's harmonies are perfect. Super groove. Great mix. Loved it.

Beautiful song, 10 out of 10, plus that instrumental break is perfect.

Fred, super cool tune! Loved the weary edge in the vocals and the solo. Super mix, too. Just perfect all the way around. A lot about the pandemic is forgettable, this song it not. THANKS for posting!

Good song and voice Fred, good balanced mix - maybe a tiny bit more 'sparkle' on the mandolin but I liked how you kept it 'mellow'! Well done,
Carl

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
