Unseen Sadness

Unseen Sadness, warning this is a dark instrumental.

Some people walk around hiding their sadness. They can put on a convincing facade when interacting with others but deep down they are hurting. It could be a constant pounding in their head, hearing voices, or some other abnormally. Some make it through life while others do not. Depression is a terrible thing.

BiaB style - State Calming Classical Serenade
Tempo - 60 BPM
I deleted all but the bass/harp and string tracks
Note all instruments except the bass/harp track are from Kontakt.
Bass/harp - UADX Polymax - running bell and Lounge Lizard - tine based - warm model V
Strings - ensemble grande and minori strings (two 3rd party Kontakt patches)
Strings 2 - EZKeys2 generated track - Amadeus - full string section and Artic Strings - rich harmoni

Via my keyboard controller I am playing the drum track. Via my keyboard and breath controller I am playing the cello and viola leads as well as the bass track.
Drums - bass drum
Cello - Amadeus - cellos
Viola - Amadeus - Violas
Basses - Amadeus -basses

As always all comments are welcomed.

Sounds really nice Mario!

Very comforting but moody at the same time.

When I first saw the title--and this is a joke, so be prepared--I thought you had been using the generate a title function. You know:

Everlasting Magenta
Superfluous Dandelion
Quintessential Purple

BUT, I saw was wrong when I heard the song.

Nice work.

(Ducking and running for cover though.)

smile

Mario, great job developing your theme! Love the way all the minor chord modulations and descending runs create tension and a sense of foreboding. And WOW, everything sounds super! Those string patches are incredible. Nice job sitting in for the rest of the orchestra, too. Loved it!

No need to duck and run. I have used the title generator to get ideas but I have never used in verbatim what they generated.

Thanx for taking the time to listen and comment David.

Thanx so much Ron for this wonderful review. That chord progression was a little different than my normal stuff so thanx for noticing it.

Mario,

It's a truly dark instrumental tune.
I think Depression is expressed very well.
The structure and usage of the instruments are really appropriate.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Thankfully there are medical interventions for such mental challenges like depression.
I could see this foreboding track in a large screen cinema.
Very well mixed.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Man, I gotta tell ya I really look forward to the next Mario song, and I'm thrilled you satisfy so often and so well. Yes, I hear --and feel-- the sadness in this one. Very weighty, a crushing burden. So much of your other music has the tendancy to lift one from their doldrums, but here you show it from the other side. So well done, and the abrupt ending was... well, actually hopeful.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx Steve. Yes there are medical interventions however they must be taken regularly . When some individuals are on their own they do not take their meds like they should, unfortunately.

Thanx so much Marty. I try to be all over the music spectrum. Some times I hit the nail right on the head and other times I hit my thumb. I'm glad you think I hit the nail!

This is pure sadness. Although I don't hear voices, I can relate to the mood. You can describe the message even without any words, just cool chords to sound like the master of darkness. I can sink into this ambient world and see strange things around me. Not many instruments, but still has very lush soundscape. I enjoyed my trip to this unseen, I hope to return one day...

Mario,

Moody and Immersive.
Someone should be using your music as movie backgrounds.
Solid mix.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
