Hi Folks,

I just installed the latest version of Flash in Firefox (os is XP sp3), and I can't believe the different look of some of the web pages, PGmusic being a good example. I also should mention that my old version was several versions back, as I don't always keep up to date. Well, the new look is ok, but I'm also having some problems, such as:

1: Web pages not loading on the first try, with the message 'web page not found'. I hit retry, sometimes the page will then load, sometimes not.

2: Slow load times (I have a broadband connection). In the past, I would sometimes hit slow connections, depending on net conditions, bottlenecks, etc, but most of the time, sites would load fairly quick. This does not seem to be the case now.

So, Anyone else using Firefox and Flash? Any ideas? I'm thinking of testing this on thru tomorrow, then possibly rolling back to a former restore point. In the meantime, any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Later
Jim

Have you rebooted since installing?
I haven't noticed any major changes here on this site with it ..

Ashamed to say I had not tried that. Usually one of the early things I try, but so many things do not require a reboot anymore and I just didn't think of it. :>). AND it seems to have helped a lot. Thanks a bunch rharv.

Off on a tangent . . . .

If you are ever prompted to load Flash Player 10.37, don't.

Unless you want to be infected with the Koobface worm, that is.

I notice there are a lot of security updates for Flash lately too.

Last year it was Adobe PDF exploits.. Adobe is a large company which means they are a good target. Unfortunate, but true. No sense trying to exploit 1000 users when you could get 3,000,000. At least they are trying to stay on top of it. I appreciate that part. They are pretty prompt to respond to new threats.

Firefox is another that seems to need a lot of updates lately. The bigger they get, the better target they make.
Goes for any software.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
