And if they ever ask "you ain't from around here, are ya...?"

No I'm not but I got some good folks in these parts, maybe you know them.....Say that and You get to finish your beer and get out with out diving out the window, but if you have to and if there's not one, make one.
Words not to say, "I'm from Washington", "Where the Tax stamp on that jar", and " Did I see you on America's most........." duck and run
All kidding aside, half the feller's most likely can play better than Charlie Daniels. Drop in to Wilkesboro NC at the Merlfest put on by Doc Watson in April and the pickup groups from whoever walks by will blow you away not counting the paid headliners.
Silvertones, you should try and make it some year if you haven't already been there.

I decided based on the fact that they did have me come play that I wouldn't just blow them off. I went and talked to them and they are very nice people. Assured me that it wasn't as it appeared. never have any trouble at all. So I said I'd play again. They're going to call next week with some dates. I also got a call from the Lounge at the local Golf Course and they want to book as well. getting together next week. Starting to improve. I'm hoping the local gig will get the word out to some of the other Clubs in town.

your songs sound great. I'm sure you can cultivate a workable and ongoing relationship with this place. And why not? They need exactly the service that you provide. It isn't as though the music you play is the type that incites people to violence. It's good ol' laid back listenin' music.

As you get back in the swing of performing and working the hobby into a business, I predict you will soon have more opportunities than you have time. Keep us posted.

Well I'll tell ya it's been a bust. I've scoured this place to no end. This is how it shapes up:
1. Places with no music = Don't want music
2. Restaurant lounges = world, rock, eclectic, solo guitars
3. Bars = Southern Rock.
As far as the place I did play the owners liked me, some of the patrons did but the majority want Southern Rock. Do to circumstances the owners are afraid to chase what customers they have left away. This place used to be jumping because the next town in NC was dry and only 20 miles away. Now that the NC town has gone wet and has several watering holes the place in Tn has dried up.

John, there's another area that might like some music, outdoor craft fairs, boat shows, RV shows,rv parks, campgrounds. I already know the problems with outdoor events, but we have to really look outside the box here.
Are you close enough to Highlands, nc or Helena Ga, lot of tourist areas there.

I met a fellow in California that did craft shows years ago. His was way different but I'll mention it anyway. He played flute, recorded and made several cd's. He had a booth that had 6 headsets so folks could listen to the demo cd's , easy natural song type, "Earth" music stuff.
He would play a bit to get the tourist interested then they listened to the demos and some bought his cd's.
I realize this is not where you are at in music but I hope to spark an idea or two.
Good luck, Wyndham

Too far from either of those places. I'm too far from everywhere!!!! The other things like craft shows etc. are few and far between and I may be able to play for free. if I was a writer and did originals there may be some merit in that. I don't mind playing for free if there's something to be gained. My venue just doesn't exist were I live.

I went to the big Campground in the area. had completly forgotten about it. Pulled in and they have a beautiful covered pavillion with a nice stage, all kind of receptacles so i figured cool. Went to talk to the manager and she informed me that they no longer have music since being hit by ASCAP/BMI. Said the license is too expensive.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
