Just finished a new song using FL Studio 9.5 for mixing, editing and recording. Vocals using Adobe Audition 3.0. Mastered with Izotope Ozone 4. Enola Gay, a DJ in my hometown, recorded the female vocals and participated in a few of the video scenes. Used a Vocalist VL3D for harmony.

The video was recorded with Sony HDR CX-100 and edited with Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10.0 HD Platinum.

Any feedback you might have is welcomed. Thanks.

Addendum: I know I'm posting in a PGMusic forum and, at present, not using any of their products. Been coming here so long, though, it's one of the first forums I visit.

Great Charlie!
I think I like your voice as much as ZZ-Top.
Enola Gay, a little Laurie Anderson touch, I dig it the most.
Wayne,

Oh yeah, Great Song! (almost forgot that)

The whole shebang is brilliant, Charley, as usual! I predict you will soon go "viral."

Especially the very last silent scene... I wonder how many viewers recognize where that came from?

Gibson, thanks for the listen and your comments. I really like Vegas Movie Studio 10. Except the rendering part. Takes too long and it seems to fail at times. I rendered at one point and had a 25GB file. Haven't found the secret to that yet.

Wayne, thanks a lot for listening/watching and for your comments. I'll pass along your comments to Enola (real name by the way).

Daisy, thanks so much. It would really be nice to go viral on youtube but there are so many videos out there. Like playing the lotto.

Ed, thanks a lot for your feedback and for watching/listening.

Oh, Daisy, you guessed the ending. I was wondering if anyone would notice that. There's a few of those sprinkled around in the video.

DANG Charlie!

You are talented on so many levels, it's difficult to start saying what all I liked about this project! Your lyrics are always very cleverly thought out, and this was no exception. And of course your music is imaginative and full of interesting variations on a theme. Your personality really shines in the scenes.. you are a born performer in every way... and it is obvious you are loving every single moment!

But above and beyond all those superlatives, there are different levels of video creativity, and you are bustin' out all over with this one. Most people would be happy to make a video with still pictures synched to a song... but you have really done a super job of filming a variety of scenes then weaving them together using techniques that amplify the visual interest quotient dramatically! More than eye candy, more than ear candy... all rolled together it is greater than the sum of its parts.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Thanks, Mike, for listening and for your comments. I just try to be aware of what goes through my head when I'm recording.

Yes, I knew you were duuktube on youtube. Just listened to your latest song there. Sounds great.

I don't mean to hijack Charlie's thread, but since Mike posted his YouTube name, I had to comment on that.

Mike you are a talented guy. I'd like to see you post some videos of your PG productions here on the user showcase.

Maybe sometime you can give us wannabes a few pointers - tips - that you've learned from doing these cool videos.

Greg, thanks a lot for your comments and for watching the video.

Sundance, thanks a lot for listening/watching and for your comments. My only advice would be to get a camera and start recording. The ideas will come just like they do with music.

Charlie,

Great stuff as has already being said. Everything is really professional, you hear of some pro musical videos costing thousands and thousands of dollars to make, and yours are just as good if not better.

just a few quetions if you have the time.

1 when doing a song in fruity loops how does it compare timewise to put together comapred to biab?

2 the chromakey stuff in your videos, does the initial video have to be shot against a green screen-no other simpler way to do it?

all the best Charlie.

That ... was AWESOME!!!! We rarely get anything like that here, and done by one of our own members to boot. I'll bet it's a hoot playing on a stage with you. Good on ya Charlie.

Out of curiosity, I wonder if the sound production could have been done with Real Band? Anyone out there tried this yet?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
