I have BB running well on a Windows 7 64 bit i7 laptop. On a previous XP I used VSC for better sound. On advice of PG Music I bought Music creator 5 to get Roland TTS-1 (bought not from PG Music - could easily obtain it locally in Holland where I live).
I did a lot of searching on the web including Cakewalk but have not been able to find what I have to do to make BB SEE TTS-1. Can anyone give me a link to the information I need? Also I hope there will be an easier way than having to edit 16 channels in TTS-1 for just using it as a player.
Thanks in advance. Dutchie.

Open the synth rack using the DXi plug in button, and select the "add a synth" from the drop down button, then locate the TTS.dll on your hard drive, and clicking it, then it should show up. after that.

TTS-1 is a DXi not VSTi so go to that same synth menu and click options/scan for new DX plugins. It should have loaded automatically as BIAB scans each time it's opened. Give it a try.

Thank you all for the replies. To be frank, they left me confused. When you talk about a "rack" I assume you refer to the Music Creator 5. Music creator SEES the TSS-1 OK.
The question was: how can I make BB see the synth. It does not show up in the BB Midi synth list (Coyote and many Roland synths are in the list but not TSS).
Andrew's screenprint SEEMS to be from BB; the upper lefthand icon looks like the BB logo. But I don't find it in my BB, nor do I see any other menu item that would allow me to make an additin to the synth list.
Could it be because I have an old 2007.5 version on my laptop which I took along while travelling in Europe (till April), leaving my PC with newer version in Holland?

I know where the TSS-1 DLL is located. Can I solve the problem by making a copy to a particular location in the BB (sub?) folder?

Thanks for your help.
Dutchie.

That is BB. Are you looking for it in the same place as the picture Andrew is showing or are you looking for it in the drop down list on the far right.

Hello Silvertones... you are an early bird!
I don't see Andrews picture in BB. I am looking on the panel in BB for Midi setup. At the righthand side there is a dropdown list of synths from which I can choose. That list is text only without any grapics. TSS is not in that list.
Am I overlooking something?
Thanks, Jan

Yes that is not the laist you want. In that list just choose one of the GM2 entries. On the main screen of BIAB you'll see a button that says DXi . Press that and you should see the scree that Andrew posted a picture of a couple posts back. Press "Synth". In the drop down you should see the TTS-1.

FOUND IT!

After checkmarking DXi on the Midi panel I got Andrews' screen. All should be well now. Also: the title of this thread should be TTS-1 instead of TSS. Apologies. And thanks for your prompt response! JanS

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
