"Sorry That I Made You Cry" is a folk-based ballad that focuses on the aftermath of a big argument that threatens to end the relationship. It's about reconciliation, resolution and hope against hope.
It was written just over a year ago, and shortly afterwards was played on BBC Radio Leeds to accompany an interview highlighting my success in the UK Songwriting Contest 2010, when four of my songs reached the semi-finals and seven were commended. This song was not one of them, being too new, but it will be entered in this year's contest which has just opened.
The song can be found on my Myspace page,
www.myspace.com/philmayburysongwriter and the track also includes the accompanying interview. There are also samples of some of my other songs. All songs were created using Band in a Box with accompanying vocals.
You can also listen to tracks I have written and produced at my own website:

"Sorry That I Made You Cry" – by Phil Maybury
I know you think it’s over
And the pain is more than you can bear
But it can bring us closer
An’ I’m sorry I was so unfair
The things we said brought it all to a head
An’ it’s been a crazy day
The road ahead won’t be easy to tread
But we’re gonna find a way
Baby, I’m so sorry that I made you cry
Maybe, you-can forgive me if you really try
We gotta face tomorrow
We’re regrettin’ what we said today
We may not have a rainbow
But the clouds can still be blown away
I can’t undo what I said about you
But I love you still for sure
We’re in a stew but we’re gonna get through
‘Cos we’ve found a way before
Baby, I’m so sorry that I made you cry
Maybe, you can forgive me if you really try
I know it could be better - I know it hurts to cry
We go so well together - We can’t just say goodbye
Baby, I’m so sorry that I made you cry
Maybe, you can forgive me if you really try
[Instrumental 8 bars]
Baby, I’m so sorry that I made you cry
Maybe, you can forgive me if you really try
Baby, I’m so sorry that I made you cry
Maybe, you can forgive me if you really try
