I'm looking at my PG Music Audiophile disk after installing the two data DVD's that came with the Biab 2011.5 PlusPak Upgrade Kit including Real Tracks 121-136. The user clicks on a RealTracks upgrade executable file and the new RealTracks are installed by the computer.

I notice that under (Audiophile Hard Disk)bb>RealTracks-Demos there are listed RealTracks01Demos through RealTracks121 Demos.
I expected to find RealTracks122 Demos through RealTracks136 Demos here, but that is not the case.
I don't see the Demos listed in the DVD's Data Folders.
How do I get RealTracks Demos 121-136 onto my audiophile disk?

So the Biab 2011.5 PlusPak Upgrade Kit, that only has the wma tracks ?
So it only upgraded the external AudioPhile drive and not install on the C:\BB ?
Does it play them from file or the net when you click Audition in the RT selection windows ?

It's the Biab 2011.5 PlusPak, delivered on two DVDs. I think the files are in wma format (not sure). After you clik the executable install program it loads the new RealTracks on the audiophile drive.
After that, the user goes to H:\bb\RealTracks\decompress.exe and starts the executable file that decompresses the wma files. I takes an hour or two for decompress.exe to do it's job.
In Peter Gannon's new video on RealBand 2011.5, he displayed the new RealBand Jukebox, and he loaded it with various directories of demo files - it works pretty good.
After watching the video, I tried loading some demo files into the Jukebox, and realized I was missing the demo files for RealTracks 121-136. All of the previous demo files are there - lined up in order, just mising the new ones.

I wonder if you need to rebuild the styles list (?) maybe the demos pull from there.
Don't have the audiophile version so I can't test.

I did a Rebuild of the styles, but that did not install the missing Demos (121-136) on the Audiophile Hard drive.
When I paid for the Biab 2011.5 PlusPak on the PG Music Web Site, I was given the option to download the PlusPak files, but I only downloaded the new program.exe files and installed them on my C:\ drive, because I knew I also had the files coming on on DVD.

I suspect that when PG Music builds up the external audiophile drives for their customers, they install the stereo demo files as part of the task.(In my case, they had a TeraByte to work with - so might as well put the "accessory" files on it)

Later, when the audiophile customer buys an upgrade, it looks like the upgrade disks may contain only the executable program updates and the specified new RealTracks, but very little of the "Gingerbread" that came with the orignal audiophile build-up.

As I look at the PG Music web site I can see no "Button" to go to "My Account".
If I could get to "My Account" I might get annother peek at those big download files that were offered on the day I paid for the software.

Hi FlaMusician,

Have you checked with PG Music to see if you got the right upgrade?

It seems to me that if you have the audiophile version, the best upgrade choice would have been "audiophile to audiophile". I might be wrong, but as I understood it, the PlusPak was for upgrading non-audiophile versions.

If you haven't checked with PG Music, I suggest you ring them on their toll-free number and ask.

Regards,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
