Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble importing mp3 files into ACW. I keep getting this error: error converting C:\RealBand\input.txt Is anyone else having problems like this? Can anyone help? After I ok that msg I get a msg saying; Problem converting file. I do have the lame mp3 encoder installed. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Bert,
What version of Realband do you have and is the latest build for it installed?
Regards, Noel

Thank you Noel, that was exactly my problem. I updated to the latest build et voila, it works again. This would be a good time to thank you for all your past contributions to the forums. I do appreciate it!

Thank you, Bert. I appreciate the thought I'm pleased it's working again for you. The ACW is a great little tool. All the best, Noel

Hello again, well I thought I had the problem fixed but when I tried opening the same mp3 file again I had the same error msgs. Can't figure out why it worked once and now it won't work. Any help appreciated. I thought I would open the same file in BIAB with the ACW and low & behold it opened without a hitch. Maybe that will help someone to try & figure why the same file won't open in RealBand ACW. Got me stumped for sure.

Take a look at what is in the input.txt file you reference. See if it yields any clues. Also double check the mp3 conversion codec being used. Saying you have the Lame mp3 codec installed doesn't mean PT is using it.
Try a different, more common sample rate and see if it works, like 128k stereo

Hi Rharv, here is what I found in input.txt
PTWExePath=C:\RealBand\ Tool=1 NumberOfInputFiles=1 SongSamplingRate=96000 SongBitResolution=16 Input=1=C:\Users\Bert\AppData\Local\Temp\PTATMP2.WAV Output=1=C:\Users\Bert\AppData\Local\Temp\^2.WAV FileOffset=1=0 StartFrame=1=0 EndFrame=1=0 TrackNumber=1=1 PTWTicks=1=0 AppendMaxMS=1=0
The wav file they are referencing on the input line is not what I was trying to input. Don't have any idea if that makes any diff. anyway. I also found an input.txt file in my BIAB folder....I can take a look at that also, this is what I found: EDIT: I see the sample rate for RB is 9600 PTWExePath=C:\bb\ Tool=1 NumberOfInputFiles=1 SongSamplingRate=44100 SongBitResolution=16 Input=1=C:\Users\Bert\Documents\1.mp3 Output=1=C:\Users\Bert\AppData\Local\Temp\^0.WAV FileOffset=1=0 StartFrame=1=0 EndFrame=1=0 TrackNumber=1=1 PTWTicks=1=0 AppendMaxMS=1=0 BIAB did open the file using ACW but RB won't so far. I see the sampling rate is 96000 in RB & 41000 in BIAB....could this make a diff?

I have joy Rharv....I think. I deleted the RB input.txt file and now ACW accepts the file. RB regenerated a new input.txt file & I THINK it is fixed. Thanks for your help. I'm going to try another file now to make sure.

Also Rharv the sample rate is back to 41000 in the RB input.txt file....so the sampling rate must have been the culprit.

Yes indeed Pat, it is the Audio Chord Wizard. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, I noticed the 16/96000 bitrate too. Glad it's working now .. many times simply deleting a file will cause PGProducts to rebuild and reset. It's just figgering out which file! Different needs require different files.

is there any documentation on this? Which files to delete for which problems? Seems like it would be a useful resource... but I guess that's part of what happens when you return to factory settings, eh?

Yes, 'factory settings' reset does most of them at once. That's why it is suggested quite often.
In his case a specific file was mentioned, and it was a text file, so I figured 'take a look at it' since the program already said the problem is in this file. Just seemed natural next step to me, and then the bitrate stood out. I learned on this one too.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
