Is the only difference between using Audio effects>Gain change and Audio Boost (right clicking on track volume), that Gain Change is destructive and Audio Boost is not? Iam only referring to audio not midi ...Bobby

I think Audio Boost is a track setting so you have to use it on the whole track.
Edit-Gain Change can be used for smaller sections.
When amplifying a whole track you are often boosting noise in a lot of places, so doing it in sections is often more inviting here.
When boosting it all I end up wanting to cut or lower the noise areas (which is about the same amount of editing work anyway).
Just came to mind with your question, maybe its just me and how I work. Now if you're using it temporarily in a session, track boost can be real handy.

To re-phrase my question-I wanted to know if gain change and audio boost do exactly the same thing to the track. When gain change is applied you can see your waveform change. When audio boost is applied there is no visual representation. Thanks...Bobby

That is correct, Gain Change function is destructive, Audio Boost is just turning the volume of the channel up and is non-destructive. As Rharv says, Gain Change comes in handy when you want to boost the volume of a smaller section of the track only, such as bringing up the volume of just one note or a series of notes.

Only one thing to add to what's been said-
If you over-cook the audio boost you'll get distortion, but on gain change you've got the option of POST PEAK LIMIT which you can use as a safety net, or creatively as a form of compression.

I wanted to bring up the level of several whole tracks 3-6db. I will do it with audio boost. Thanks for your help...Bobby

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
